Camp season starts today

Two more camps in Boulder after today and one at Pearland HS (Houston area), along with one in the Bay area (not 100% sure on this one).

fyi, Scout listed the 6 times they normally release rankings. Should be a lot of new evaluations out in a week or so.

Pre-evaluation in March
Post-evaluation in early June (the last NFTC this year is June 9)
Post-summer in late July/early August
Mid-senior season in October
Post- senior season in early December
and then the final-final ratings release comes in mid-January.

Mullen 2015 WR Ryan Manning and Chatfield 2015 QB Kyle Winkler both tweeted they are camping at CU today.

The Bay Area camp will be held at the University of Redlands. Don't think Mac can go, but the rest of the coaches will be there and it sounded like plenty of Cali prospects will be attending. Good way for us to dominate a camp without actually "hosting" it.

I could have gotten the name wrong or perhaps it was planned to be in SoCal from the start. On a related note, I went to an average size high school in the Bay Area and Mac knew much more about the recent history of the program than I did (I played and still keep in touch with people in the program). It was quite impressive and certainly increased my faith in him.

Well Lindgren worked at the University of Redlands to start his career, so it makes sense they'd partner with them for a camp. Just uh, the georgrapy doesn't really work, unless we're going to have a SoCal camp and a Bay Area one.

Staff is wrapping up today in DFW and Utah. Expect new offers to go out when the coaches convene back in Boulder.

One name to keep an eye on Jordan Lasley out of Serra. He ran 4.44 at the UCLA camp last night and earned an offer, he may be about to blow up.

The Buffplaybook guy (Colorado Scout site) has a couple videos of some kids that attended our camp a couple weekends ago.

"What are your top 5?"
-We don't have 5 offers yet, but Colorado would be up there if they offer.

What a great interview.

Found this in the LA Times
Lasley committed to UCLA this weekend, ending the pipeline to USC (at least for the moment). He is a lanky 6-foot-2 receiver who runs a 4.4 40-yard dash.
“UCLA is my dream school,” Lasley said. “I used to want to go to USC.”

My what a difference a year makes. The good news for CU is that kids are fickle.

Last camp in Boulder today and then recruiting really slows down for a while.
