Construction on Farrand field lot?

Yeah. We ran into the parking lot dude at the spring game. He mentioned that they will be doing some renovations on Baker Hall that might impact out parking spot. I really feel pretty abused by CU. we may end up back by the bike racks.

Baker Hall is being renovated and be closed until August 2014. Baker desperately needed updating and is going to be beautiful when it is renovated complete with many historical features still intact.

Rather than be concerned about the impact on football fans who park near Farrand Field 6-7 times a year, maybe have more empathy for the current students who will be inconvenienced for the entire year and those who live around Farrand Field who will put up with the construction daily for 9 months. just saying
Also I've just joined AllBuffs but have been following for awhile...And yes I bleed Black and Gold!!

Welcome to the boards. If we weren't bitching about something then we wouldn't be posting.

Soooooo, **** alumni engagement then? Why can't we have empathy or sympathy for both the students and our supporters?

What is the impact to students, just out of curiosity?

It's about time Baker Hall gets connected to the post apocalypse DIA-Cheyenne Mountain subterranean tunnel complex.

They can't get baked in baker until 2014 dumbass.

That's compelling.

But why not come out and say "In addition to our supporters who are impacted by the construction, our students are inconvenienced as well."

It makes me wonder if this guy works for the university, since his default position was to be combative to our alumni/fanbase.

he said he has been lurking for awhile. Combative to a fellow poster is a natural position to take. Also you seem more argumentative lately.

"We are not going to renovate Baker Hall because it may or may not displace a couple tailgates for 1 season"... Im sorry but that is just ridiculous

Dave Plati is that you?

No. **** you.

But the construction isn't bad. The whole campus is already under construction year round and when they renovated Willard a few years ago the construction wasn't bad, and Willard is on the same path to the C4C which sees a whole lot of traffic everyday.

"We're not going to renovate the rec because a couple thousand SR's may or may not be inconvenienced while using it in their final year"

It's really no worse than it was before the renovation, unles you're really committed to the ice rink.

As a former Baker Hall resident as a freshman so may years ago, I can tell you that it needed renovations in the 80s, so this is long overdue.

You are right...empathy or sympathy for students and supporters is correct. I certainly don't want to minimize the importance and dedication of alumni especially those who have supported CU thru think and thin. I just wanted to point out there are others impacted in addition to tailgaters.

I've had season tickets to football and basketball for awhile. Probably should have joined this group long ago...after all us passionate Buff fans are a great group.

I have no problem with renovating Baker Hall. I just don't understand why the lot has to be used. Why not put that stuff on the North side of Baker? You know, where there aren't any parking spots?

asphalt = no replacement $
turfgrass/irrigation = replacement $

you decide...

Not sure but maybe because Duane Physics and JILA are on the north side and they don't want to disturb classrooms and scientific equipment with the construction noise. Also it is better to have the construction staging area on asphalt and concrete than on the grass lawn north of Baker. Maybe???

So it's ok to have construction noise next to the music school?

Look, we've been jerked around with our parking spot two years in a row now. It's starting to feel like we've been somehow targeted. I know that's ridiculous, but their little projects seem to follow us wherever we go. It's annoying.
