Freeman went for over 2,000 yards in both his sophomore and junior seasons. Imperial is off the radar of most college coaches and the competition is suspect, but he is drawing serious interest from several PAC-12 schools. Overall, Freeman looks like a big back with marginal speed, but he looks to have good feet for a RB.

Freeman had a breakout performance at the LA Nike Camp, winning the running back MVP award.

A camp setting should not be a great showcase for the 6-foot, 210-pound Freeman. He looked every bit of his listed height and weight, and may have a little more in both category. He is a big running back, and yet despite not having a chance to run anyone over, Freeman stood out as the top performer at his position on the day. Freeman has a lot of shake to him for a big back, and he showed the ability to be a receiving threat out of the backfield. He really excelled in position drills where he showed the ability to run low, despite his height.

There wasn’t a better looking athlete physically than Freeman. At 5-11, 220 pounds, Freeman looks like a college back right now and did very well in every drill. He showed soft hands in the pass catching drills, is a very physical runner and has the ability to be an every down back at the next level.

Physically, Freeman set the bar on Sunday. There isn’t a coach in American that doesn’t want his running back to look like Freeman walking on the field. The 5-11, 220-pounder also happened to get the job done where it mattered too showing good feet and quicks for a player of his size and even running a 4.65 laser-timed 40. Freeman has to be considered one of the best big backs on the west coast.

So would he start from day one at CU? Looks the part and the offer list says that others agree.

I like bigger backs

This post offers so many opportunities that wouldn't be appropriate in a recruits thread.

I agree however and especially when you start running spread type offenses or the pistol. These offenses can leave the QB vulnerable and a bigger back is better equiped to pick up defenders who are rushing and are in on the QB. These offenses also provide a lot of opportunities for a back who can break one tackle or beat one defender to have some space to run in. This kid looks well suited for that role.

Huh I could have sworn I saw CU in his top four. Oh wait, no I can read and we clearly aren't. You should be a detective with those skills.

Wow. That's funny. You have jokes good for you. Now go get your water-wings and play in the kiddie pool.

Any recruit thread that people continue to comment on where CU clearly has no shot is a waste of people's time and complete noise. You probably watch CNBC as well.

Around these parts we also tend to pay attention to the players our opponents are lining up. Really good chance that Royce will be playing in the PAC-12, so it's relevant to get periodic updates.

Because keeping up on other PAC 12 schools and their recruiting is such a waste of time. I mean it's not like we play these teams or anything. You should probably tell Nik that the two stickies following PAC 12 recruiting are stupid and a waste of time.

Considering BsB's recent post, this might help us with Ballage. Fingers crossed, at least.
