Tough to get Utah kids, especially if he is mormon. I think he ends up at Utah or BYU, but I would love him in Boulder. Great looking prospect.

From what I can tell, Chapman recently exploded as a national recruit. Previously it had looked like a dog fight among the in-state schools. Sounds like he had a big tournament at Pangos.

There's a new subscription article for the 247s folks: http://colorado.247sports.com/Artic...d-Shaq-Carr-are-high-on-the-Buffs-list-127809

Also, from digging around a bit, Chapman sounds like a really good defender who blocks a bunch of shots. But he must have some offensive game, because he scored 25 points in one of the Pangos games.

His stock was plummeting with everyone but Jerry Meyer, who doesn't know what the **** he's talking about. He didn't really have any options left.

what has th eknock on his game been? also why do some list him as a PG? (Goose, typo?)

PG is definitely a typo. The knock is that he's a finesse four that can't dribble and isn't that good of an athlete.

Definitely surprised to see him commit to Utah with that offer list; guess he has really fallen a ways.

Nice pickup for Utah. That program is methodically getting back to respectability. It's crazy that such a great program fell so far so fast without a scandal or anything -- just a disaster of a coaching hire.

Utah and USC getting some good players is good for the depth of the conference.

Nice pickup. Have my doubts about their ceiling under Krystkowiak (and Chapman), but it's obviously an upgrade for their talent. Just a question of whether it's as drastic as some of the ratings/offers indicate at first glance.

Yeah, he's probably a little overrated, but the Utes have the potential for a formidable front line in 14, with Loveridge, Chapman, Bachynski and Olsen. Taylor's about it at the guard positions though.

Pffft. Just because he can't dribble and isn't a good athlete doesn't mean he can't be a PG. It's revolutionary!

I think that this was a great pick up for the Utes. Obviously anytime a Top-100 recruit is from your state your top priority should be locking him down, as they did. I just don't think Utah has much other than Loveridge and Chapman. Also Chapman is going to be a freshman so you really never know how he is going to do in his first year. Should be in the bottom 4 once again.
