Got a heads up from Slider on this prospect.

Farrar transferred to Upland before his junior season and earned all-league honors as a cornerback. He worked out as a WR for the Army combine last month though and showed well.

Speed is the major question mark here.

He transferred from Bishop Alemany so maybe Devin Ross knows him. LaRussa just added him on fb so we're in contact

Farrar is starting to heat up. Sounds like ASU might offer soon. Hope we decide to enter the race here, he may be a pretty good safety in the end.

Nice (reported) speed. Transferred to Upland so he doesn't know the three current Buffs from there but I'm sure the new staff has developed a rapport with Tim Salter who runs a great program. The Devin Ross connection is also solid.

It will be UVA or Cal. Strange to see UVA go this far west, Steve Fairchild may be behind this. He checked out Charlottesville and it's one of those towns you can just fall in love with. Awesome new IPF, pulling in big time talent.

Two of the top 7 players in the nation per rivals, and they aren't done yet. Time for London to start winning, which frankly I'm skeptical of...

for the record, Farrar has no ties to UVA or even the state that anyone knows of

Well it sounds like worst case is if London doesn't win the next coach will have a pretty good roster

UVA has moved away from stocking OOC cupboard with cupcakes in order to get bowl eligible because of plummeting ticket sales. They've had to go find big names. Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, BYU and Boise State all coming up this year and in coming years to get attendance back above 60k. Hard to see how they do any better than 6-6 this season given the uncertainty (although talent) at QB. My personal guess is 5-7. The schedule is difficult. However, they are really denting VT by taking away recruits. They're reclaiming the vaunted 757 Tidewater talent as their territory which Tech had taken over for the past decade. London can afford a losing season this year, but if he does it again in 2014, he's probably out. The talent likely will kick in by then though and wins will be on the way, even with the rise of UNC such.

As for Farrar, the stars attract stars argument is clear here:

When Virginia got a commitment from five-star safety Quin Blanding in February, the recruiting world was intrigued. When the Cavaliers picked up five-star defensive lineman Andrew Brown this past weekend, the recruiting world was abuzz again. And at least one top target says it got his attention, too. - See more at: http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1521091#sthash.9DzZxLN8.dpuf

He may very well choose Cal on Wednesday, but as great a college town as Charlottesville is, he wouldn't have them as a co-finalist if it wasn't for the snowball effect recruiting has. Virginia hardly ever wanders into Cali recruiting. Last time they did that I can recall was for QB Scott Deke in 2003. I think Fairchild's west coast connections play a part in this.

Virginia.

Should add, he has a very much on/off girlfriend who plays volleyball at UVA and he is ripe for a flip down the road, IMO.

Is Virginia taking pages out of the Baylor recruiting plan. SWC style persuasion?

Keep recruiting him until signing day. Guessing he will take some PAC-12 visits. Could be a really good safety early on.

He wouldn't be the first kid to commit to a team on the other side of the country then realize that his family isn't going to get to see him play and he won't get to see his friends.

Not saying he is going to flip but he is worth keeping after just in case.

Very decent chance of a flip. I have it on solid authority that this is one of those "on/off" girlfriend type situations. Charlottesville is a great town and they're pulling in talent, but there's not a single CA player on the roster and I can't recall a CA football recruit to UVA since 2003. The main draw is the girlfriend volleyball player. Need to keep after him. UVA is poised for an outstanding future on pure talent, but I personally highly doubt they make a bowl this year. 5-7 is my personal guess, and even the Kool-Aiders are praying for 7-5. Schedule is rough with Oregon and Clemson, among others.

So, did he sign with UVA and now he's transferring? Or did he never sign his paperwork?
