BOULDER—Senior Nikki Lindow surpassed the 400 career blocks and sophomore Nicole Edelman 2,000 career assists as the University of Colorado volleyball team snap a five-match losing streak in sweeping the Oregon State Beavers (28-26, 25-21, 25-20) Friday night here at the Coors Events Center.

“I’m glad we were not only able to come up with the victory but that we did it in three sets,” CU head coach Liz Kritz said. “We had a little gut-check coming off the last swing with the Arizona schools. There were some lulls in play tonight, I talked about it with them in the huddle, I asked them if we were sharp, and they responded ‘we were sharp-ish.’ They recognize that there is still a better level this team can play at.”

The Buffs improve to 16-11 overall and 8-9 in the Pac-12 while OSU falls to 9-19 and 0-17, respectively. CU is now 6-2 in league matches at the Coors Events Center.

The term "must-win" is tossed around more than it should be. However, with the Buffs desperately trying to claw their way into the NCAA Tournament and sitting 8-9 in the Pac with 9-8 Oregon visiting, it doesn't get much bigger than that.

I think that if they can win one of their final three matches, they should be alright.

I think they really need to win their next two and then put up a decent showing in LA, to be honest. With those crucial losses at Utah, Wyoming, Oregon and ASU as well as the loss to Cal at home, they put themselves in a bit of a hole.

I agree. This team is on the bubble big time.

The one that really hurt was that stupid loss at Wyoming. The conference losses are all to teams with decent RPI.

Completely missed on that one. Poor scheduling to have a local rival on the schedule right after conference play has started. Team didn't come out focused and it's questionable whether the coaches were on their game with that scouting report.

Still, finish .500 or better in Pac-12 play with the wins they have and I think it would be tough for the selection committee to deny them.
