I really like him on film. Unfortunately, it sounds like we've got a lot of ground to make up. He is favoring the schools from the Pac-10 (not 12) and is holding out for a USC offer.

Also, profiles vary on his weight. Two services and his film list him between 230-236 lbs and then two services list him between 260-265 lbs. If the latter, he's probably a DT instead of a DE.

I guess the ht/wt disparities don't bother me much. He looks like a player and based on the film, looks like he'll grow into a DT.

What bothers me is the 2.5 gpa.

That SC class has got to be getting close to filling up at this point. Certainly don't want to just concede that they get to pick their guys and the rest of us fight over the leftovers, but some of these other youngsters holding out for that offer have got to start seeing that it may not be forthcoming.

Pio was slated to start at Washington this season but had some off-field issues and was dismissed from the team in the Spring.

He landed at San Mateo for a JC season.

Official Visitor to CU on 11/22 according to Rivals.

With CUD leaving their is certainly playing time available for whoever wants it. Possibly for 2 players...a run stopping DE and a pass rushing DE.

With the advent of the zone read, I'm not sure coaches look at it that way. I think they look at both DE positions as guys who have to be extremely athletic to be able to run with the QB to the edge - first and foremost. Not sure we have anyone on the roster than can run like that. Gillam can run with the other's teams speed guys, and that's about it from our front 6 (i.e. 4-2 front).

Reed and Gilbert sound like those players

Wasn't he supposed to visit this past weekend?

He was. And then he wasn't on the OV list. There was a scramble with that JC after they made the playoffs. Hopefully we can still get him to Boulder. Immediate impact starter.

I think there's some work to still do academically for him. He was a full qualifier obviously in order to go to UW, but he still has to graduate from his JC which he is targeting for May.

Would be nice to have updated information on offers/visits, etc as the info at the top is all from 2 years ago. Do any of the services have a new Juco page for him?
