Which targets do we add?

Ballage? MacIntyre? Other?

Which targets do we flip?

Dotson? Other?

Which targets do we lose?

Rodriguez? Other?

Are there any surprises out there that the coaches have kept quiet?

It looks like HCMM would take up to 3 more than are currently committed.

I think we end up adding MacIntyre, while losing Rodriguez. Maybe a backup plan we don't know about.

Why? Better players in next years class?

Coaches should be after better targets since they have built relationships with them for a few years. Hard to flip a good senior when other schools have been recruiting him since he was a sophomore.

I'm for getting good players and won't care if they are unknowns. I don't seeing the staff taking "reaches" at this point, so if they have a secret, I'm good with it.

We really need another offensive linemen in this class if E-Rod vacates.

Keeping Rodriguez and flipping Ballage would be positive surprises.... but frankly we don't get many of those on NSD anymore.

My guess is that we lose Rodriguez and that is basically it.

Keeping Rodriguez and getting Ballage would tell me all I need to know about this staff and their recruiting ability.

This staff didnt begin recruiting last year. They should have started relationships while at SJSU.

Jay Mac - close to a lock unless someone in the MW is making a push for him as a QB

Rodriguez - more realistic than flipping Dotson or Ballage as he has already committed here

Ballage, Dotson - Next to impossible to think both can be flipped, but would hope both are still hearing plenty from our coaches

To me, only the signing of Ballage would come close to softening a loss of Rodriguez. Having built a relationship with a committed recruit for that long only to have him bolt in the last week with very little time to make a play for our already-committed Plan B board (Anderson from SDSU? Holland from Army?) would be a killer.

Monarch is holding Signing Day festivities at 7:30 a.m., so we'll all know bright and early.

Do you think that SJSU targets the same players as Arizona or Colorado or Minnesota? Being a big boy opens certain doors IMO.

Especially in California where they claimed to have in roads with all these HS Coaches. They should have been well known to those players and coaches.

Mathewes told Vandy, ASU and the dirt burglars no thanks after committing to CU according to Adam at rivals.
Landed 5 kids named 1st team all state in CA, second most to USC. May not have a ton of star power or P5 offer lists, but about as good as CU has recruited CA for a while IMO

We will know sooner rather than later. Lots of these kids will play early.

Great in HS is different than great in college. Checked out the QB on that team - not rated by Rivals and has no offers.

Didn't say it did. Still an accomplishment for the future Buffs. Not a bad first year at TE for Keeney, staff saw him at that position before he even played a down there. Lee has another couple inches and he is recruited by everyone. Mathewes had a great senior season and had some nice programs come calling. Fields was a great get only bc Clark stayed in on him. Gamboa appears to lack speed on film, which of course means he is going to be the star of the class.
Think we did OK in CA this class.

Though there is some doubt I sure hope Rodriguez decides to stay. The kid has talent and potential and could have a long, solid career as a starter here, help the program return to respectability and play in the NFL. We get linemen drafted to the NFL.

We need to start winning battles like this one of these days and I would like to see it start this season with the verbal from Fields, keeping Rodriguez, and getting Ballage to join the Buffs.

As a bonus I'd like to see us land Vecchio.

Looking at these all-star teams does tell you how good they are now, not how good they could be.
The kids with non P5 offers or no offers were generally small for their positions.
