So according to Rivals, he's committed to us?

Adam just broke it.

Wiefels was a secret OV this weekend and just committed.

Had been a soft verbal to Hawaii over the summer. Then he tripped to CSU, loved the state, and it looked like he would commit there but didn't end up pulling the trigger.

Short review from the Rivals JC Gridiron reports:

He started mostly at right guard in 2012, and his film shows a big and powerful athlete that never gives up on a play.

So if he has "three to play two" does that mean he can play this fall but has a RS year available?

Yes. JUCOs can play immediately. He started for the last 2 years at RG for American River C.C.

Maturity and size are needed on our OL. Welcome Sully. Hoping you become a great Buff! Congrats!

Higher rating, not sure as versatile on the line, but much needed maturity and much needed talent infusion at the guard spot. Definitely not a bad way to bounce back from the loss of ER today. Welcome Sully, the black and gold are excited to have you.

Spoke with Sully. He's originally from Eagle, Idaho, and said he was a soft commit to Colorado State ... but couldn't pass up the offer he received from Colorado today following Rodriguez's decommitment. Wiefels played both guard and tackle for ARC in Sacramento.

Wiefels was, as you know, in Boulder this past weekend for an official. He said it was just him and another local quarterback visiting, but he couldn't remember his name.

Wiefels will have three years to play two and said CU wants him to play on the inside of the line. He's very nice and extremely excited to be a Buff.

Now I'm curious who the local QB might be.

Anders Hill from Fairview (Columbia commit)
Jacob Knipp from Ralston Valley (UNCO commit)

I don't know of any others unless maybe an athlete who played QB in HS. There are a couple of those.

I believed he'd actually signed with Hawaii, but got a release and returned to ARC for the fall.
I remember when he played at Eagle High here, near Boise. Was probably best blocker for Taylor Kelly (ASU QB) and Tanner Mangum (Elite 11 MVP - BYU signee).
