Kid seems to have some talent. Apparently got passed over b/c his junior year there was a senior starter who is now playing D1 I think so he didn't have any junior film.

According to his coach, Ty had a better year than his predecessor and certainly put up good numbers. He's got some wheels and is apparently pretty accurate. He can throw it far enough but it seems like maybe he doesn't get enough zip on the ball but that could be something Lindgren can help with.

Given our lack of depth and the fact that we beat out a couple big time schools for him as a PWO he is more than welcome to our very small QB depth chart.

Are you sure he's signed? The rivals article on him said that we are in the lead but it didn't sound like he was official yet.

Not sure if he's signed, but L.A. Times' Eric Sondheimer is rockin' it.

"Gangi didn't play much his junior season because he was behind and incumbent starter and was injured, and that may have cost him a bit in the recruiting process," the Pasadena Star-News' Adam Tolegian reports.

Really hope Ty is coming our way. Definitely a need for us and a great opportunity for him. Solid family football bloodlines in the Pac 12. It mentions he also recieved PWO offers from USC and ND. Here's hoping this is a done deal.

Yeah that's what I was going off of. I don't think that he's technically signed yet, but at this point after signing day he'll probably be signed very shortly.

Walk on's don't sign a NLI as they are non scholarship players. Preferred Walk On's are however guaranteed a spot on the team.

This can't do anything but help. Looks like the kid is another late bloomer, M2's specialty.

At worst he gives some competition in camp and provides some ability to the scout team.

Based on his offers he has shown enough to indicate that he has a chance to contribute at this level.

Good pick-up.

This was an excellent pickup. Gangi is better a better prospect than some of the QBs that came in on scholarship in recent years.

Unfortunately this is true. Kid looks like what you want in a QB.

Kid looks like he has enough arm strength to get the ball down field and throw a pretty accurate ball, also has mobility, can run. Didn't see a lot of throwing on the run but he did use mobility to move away from pressure and reset to make good throws.

Bowling Green plays in a conference that has put out a lot of good QBs and the ND and USC walk-on offers say some people believe he has potential to contribute

Hate to keep reminding people, but you cannot judge one's accuracy from highlight reels. They don't show you the big misses of wide open receiver!

This is very true for every highlight reel, highlight reels are the players selected best plays. They don't show the missed passes, when a guy trips over his own feet or drops the ball, etc.

The do show if a guy can make certain throws though and in the highlights he not only made some nice throws but hit guys in the right spot and on time.

Good stuff from the L.A. Times on Gangi: http://lat.ms/1mcIDo6

Sounds like the kid is a winner even if he never plays a down of PAC 12 football. Both he and his dad understand that things exist outside of being a scholarship football star.

Now if the family didn't have the resources to send to to college on their own and a scholly was his only option then it might have been worth it to take a different route. Even with that if he is good enough to get a PWO offer in the PAC he could have had a D2 education paid for had he wanted. Getting the educational experience and maintaining his HS friendships are worth making some sacrifices for.

Good luck to him and I hope he develops enough to earn that scholly.

Cool. He certainly sounds like a good guy to have in the program. Supports the culture being built while upgrading the walk-on talent with a guy who has shown the patience to stick with things and keep competing while not getting varsity game snaps. Looks to be pretty talented, too.
