Derrick Webb was from Memphis. Different high school, but it wouldn't be unusual for there to have been a connection with that.

First guess that sprung to mind. I really have no idea.

Coach Mac's dad was at Vanderbilt for 6 years (79-85). It was a long time ago but I bet he still knows some people in Tennessee. Maybe that has something to do with it.

Spoke for a while with his Uncle who is a scientist in Colorado and really wants him to come to school here. Wanted him to transfer to CO for his senior year of HS but they decided the downgrade in competition wouldn't be good for his recruiting.
Anyway, guessing all of that had to do with how CU discovered him.
