Wow. I mean, I think Utah is definitely on their way, but #20 overall. Wow.

Strongly disagree. Utah's legit. They're a top 20 team and #2 in the conference.

UCLA is too low. WSU & ASU are WAY too high.

CU cracks the top 4.

Bottom third of the Pac-12 looks weak to me this year.

ASU, OSU & WSU are going to be horrid. OSU has good coaching, and WSU has Lacy, but other than that, those three teams blow. USC also has the potential to join them in the "utter crap" group - depending on if Reinhardt's attitude is worth a damn this year. Don't get me wrong, even if he's a rock star they won't be amazing or anything, but if the wheels come off there, they're REALLY coming off.

Is Romar finally going to be on the hot seat? They seem to be doing nothing the past few years.

That was a Tad-like turnaround by Larry K. I know the Utes had success under Majerus, but I also think Utah basketball sank lower than we did the last decade. That's a state that supports its hoops, too. Hope our rivalry aim is higher than targeting them, but I expect a lot of good games between us and the Utes going forward. When the travel partner matchups are good enough to have national TV potential the conference as a whole is having a good year. Still not sure it's a 6-bid year though.

I can't wait to see the PAC:12 schedule this year. Teams are going to dread going to the mountains to play us and Utah. Would be nice to be on the back end of Arizona and UCLA.

Turnaround is only "potential" at Utah right now. I think they'll be good, but they have to do it on the court before I anoint them as a top half team in the conference.

People forget how big of a national power Utah was for a while there. National championship games, Elite Eights, etc.. They were legit.

I worry about the Utes... limited to no altitude advantage. Always have played us tough, even when ****ty. Oh yea, and we can't say that Tad killed their mascot with his bare hands without getting in trouble.

Utah gained a lot of confidence from a weaker than weak non-conference schedule last year....how they do against San Diego State and Kansas will dictate how well they play in conference in my opion

Any idea when we will see those conference schedules for MBB and WBB? I thought I had seen something saying they would be out by 9/2 but they are running out of time to make that happen.

I don't know but I checked the schedules today and they only had non-con there. Should be soon.

Im also not sold on utah in the top 20 - top half of the pac for sure, probably top 4 with us, Ucla & zona. but top 20 in the country? I'll wait a while to decide if I think they are worthy.

Oregon at number 10?

I dont really recall what happened or if things have changed since I last looked, but 3 of their 4 best players allegedly raped some girl, then the other transferred. I believe the alleged rapists were tossed off the team.

When you play the "game" like Altman does, you run the risk of major down years.

As we know, jumping into the top 25 is different than actually staying there. I want to see Utah handle expectations and prove they can win big road games consistently before I proclaim them top 20.

Utah is playing a brutal schedule.

@San Diego State
@Kansas
@UNLV
Wichita State

They are definitely going to be tested by the time conference play rolls around.
