Another week...

Defense made plays but on 3rd downs in second half, they gave up way too many big plays. The offense just needs to get tougher running the football, there is improvement on that side of the ball for sure, just need to start winning period.

TJ and Pow need to be the primary backs. Period. Let lindsay focus on KR for now, he needs to learn the game and bulk up before he will be truly effective at RB.

I'm hurting, guys. These kids have learned how to fight, just have to learn how to finish.

more juice boxes, if only, and what if.

Bottom line is we tanked, failed and choked. Any other spin is spin.

Wow. Did you actually see the game? Not sure how you couldn't be proud of such grit just because the outcome wasn't what you (or any of us) wanted. The "bottom line" is actually affected by how you played in games while you were improving (even if you lose them). The bottom line WILL improve if we keep playing with the heart and poise we played with today. That deserves applause, not scorn. But you're free to feel how you want to feel.

Another big thing, students seem to be more excited to. This team is giving them a reason to show up knowing it's not going to be like showing up in 2011 or 2012 or 2013.

Give me a freaking break. Go back and read the season prediction threads, most in tehre are saying they want to see weekly improvement and a competitive team...and that's exactly what we are seeing.

I thought that in the prediction thread, most were saying Cal was our best chance for a conference win and some (ahem) were practically guaranteeing a win.

It'll be a quiet plane ride home. This was a game of inches. There were so many pivotal moments in which to ruminate.

The team with the most heart won today. By a hair.

I always thought Oregon St was a better chance than Cal since it's at home. But, we'll see. Cal may suck serious ass.

Oregon State's QB is awesome. NFL material. Maybe the strongest arm in the conference. Throws a frozen rope. Not very mobile though (a classic pocket passer).

Yep. I just think this team finds conference win or two somewhere and I'll always like our chances more at home. By no means predicting a win, but wouldn't be overly shocked either.

Can't really tell anything about the 3rd-best known OSU because of their schedule but tonight's game against USC should tell us much more

Never did I guarantee a win against Cal

Or, neither team had a shred of defense in which to stop the other team. It was nearly last guy holding the ball. Ye who didnt make a mistake got the win. It was certainly much more fun to watch that some of the deer in the head lights ass pounding we took not so long ago....

Gotta stop giving away games, this should have been put away in the first half. I said in another thread, you have that opportunity, get it done. I don't give a **** if you are playing in Japan and haven't slept for two days. Tired of this young ****, step up and do it. If Oliver has had practices, bench his ass. We can't afford to wait on him if the Mexico guy can make kicks. Can he?

The 3rd quarter, again, was brutal today, I await the game where CU outplays an opponent after coming out of the locker room.

Why can't this team start second halves as strong as the first?

Trickery. Change ups. Different looks. We do stuff early that there isnt film for. Thats good coaching via game planning. I think we lack the horses to over power the adjustments and thats why we fall flat.

We were so so close today...

At least we can be pissed about what happened in the fourth quarter and the OT, not what happened in the first quarter leading to the blow out.

We are getting better. We looked like we had a PAC 12 offense today. Defense left a lot to be desired but even a few signs of hope there. We have some quality young players who should develop. We were without Bell, TT, Gillam played hurt, DE is hurt by injuries. Everybody get injuries but we don't have the depth to cover for them.

Looking at M2 at the end of the game I don't think he is going to let them get down and quit. Expect to see a solid effort next week and the rest of the season even as losses pile up.

Yep. We just can't keep doing this. First couple possessions of the second half are so crucial. They set the tone. Imagine a strong start with us reeling off a 14-0 run instead of someone else for a change. I have no idea what we're doing at halftime. Something about our routine is broken, it seems. There's a disconnect. It has happened too many times over these 1.5 seasons.

Posted on Chat about this.

Thought that if we could have stopped them on their first drive then scored the game would have been over. they were looking for a reason to quit and instead we let them believe.

I saw improvement but I have serious issues with the lack of adjustments or change of personnel. Why would we not attempt to change the kicker or have a different set of linemen near the endzone.
The coaches must think beyond the playbook.

Did we have a 2nd kicker on the traveling squad or was Darragh the backup PK for this game?
