Levi Knutson Starring in Germany

Here is a link for a little update on Levi ... He is leading his team in scoring.

... and an excerpt from an article that his Dad shared with me about a recent game in which he led a comeback victory.

"The game seemed to be slipping away at the beginning of the second half as they fell behind 35:45 to the guests. A few minutes later it seemed that the lead was too much to overcome down 55:44 which was the games biggedt lead. Then, just in time, Knutson and Virgil Matthews took the helm and brought the NINERS back again to a 55:60 deficit. By now the audience had come up to operating temperature and transformed the venue for the infamous "Hartmann-hell". But the comeback stalled as Chemnitz meantime several minutes scored no points and was thus behind down the stretch 61:68. "The fans were awesome! They have never gave up on us and we didn’t give up either," Knutson said about the more than motivating interaction between fans and players.

The smart US-Boy (Knutson) ultimately succeeded in perhaps the decisive action of the game: With just under two minutes remaining time and five points behind, Levi brought the NINERS back after a steal leading to a 3-on-1 Fast Break with Knutson getting a layup after a fine pass from Matthews. But the sniper wanted more, Knutson caught the ball, takes a step back behind the three-point line, and then sending the leather cold to pull within 2 points at 66:68! A little later forced A turnover by somewhat hapless acting Walter Simon causing the first extension/OT (70:70)."

Still miss this kid ... one of my favorite all time Buff Basketball Players.
