Here's a write up from August of last year at Nationals:

Monica Burich, 6-1 small forward, MN North Tartan 15/Roseville Area High School
Burich led her squad to the final four of the Juniors. She is a playmaker out of the small forward slot with a medium build and runs the court well with good vision. Burich would just as soon make the assist as score herself and as such, on offense, it was mostly drive, or drive and dish, throw in an occasional postup or mid-key jumper. A likely major Division I prospect, she needs to develop a smoother perimeter stroke as currently it is a bit slow in release and not very fluid.

Video profile of Monica. A lot on volleyball but switches to basketball and her recruiting experience about half way thru.

I wonder, like Rachel, she'll join the volleyball team at CU when her basketball career is over?

Sounds like she was recruited by Minnesota, Creighton and Iowa and perhaps some other Midwestern schools as well in basketball.

Not much to get out of the highlights, although I did like the entry pass she made to the post. She supposedly has wing skills at 6-2 (Like Makenzie Ellis).

Please play basketball and then a year of volleyball. Good luck in the state tourney.

Looks like Ms. Burich (and 3 other women hoopsters) are now officially signed on to become 2015 Buffs! Welcome!

Isn't she from Minnesota? She will think Coloradoans are wimps when it comes to weather.

Cubuffs.com has released the article and accompanying video (1 minute 41 seconds) for Ms. Burich - http://www.cubuffs.com//ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=600&ATCLID=210052889 . (They have now released articles and videos for all 4 incoming Women's basketball student athletes.)

At least based on the short video, interesting how much her (very sweet looking) outside shot was emphasized, as I'd have thought with her (I assume?) height advantage against many teams in high school at 6'2", they might have used her more as a post player (the video does show 4-5 plays with her in the post). At 9 rebounds a game (in the shorter length high school game), obviously that part of her game was strong at the high school level.

One thing that LOOKS clear (I'm not enough of an expert to even hazard a guess of how the high school games of players translates to college)- With the 4 incoming Buffs for 2015 all looking to have good to great outside shots, one of if not THE Buffs biggest advantages this year, outside shooting, should continue over the next few years. (This year, they out-shot their conference opponents .376 to .300 from 3 point land and .776 to .706 from the free throw line.)

Edit- Just adding a couple related tweets-

A few things I noticed in that video (in addition to her 3 point shooting):
1. she has a nice looking mid-range shot. That always helps to keep the defense from packing in to the post. That shot was how Randie Wirt made her impact.
2. she brought the ball up a number of times and seemed fairly comfortable doing it. Always helps when a player is more versatile.
3. if she is really 6'2" (I've also seen her listed as 6'1") with the versatility shown in the video, she might be a good player to spend some time at the 4 position if she has the strength to hold her own there.
