So, USC, fresh off a straight set upset loss at Utah, is going to be VERY hungry for a win. (Although highly ranked, if they lose to the Buffs today, I believe they'll only be 2 games above .500, and .500 is required at the end of the year to qualify for the NCAA tournament.)

Of course, I'm sure the Buffs will also be hungry after its straight set home loss against the Bruins.

In their loss against USC in LA, the Buffs had major problems with USC's Samantha Bricio serve (considered one of the two best in the country). Will the altitude, and better Buff serve receive, neutralize her better at the Keg?

The match will be on the Pac 12 network for those who can't make it to the match. And, live stats should be available at http://www.cubuffs.com/liveStats/liveStats.dbml?DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=600 come game time.

(I will be at the match, and usually find it too distracting to provide many updates when I'm at a live event, but may try to provide an occasional report.)

Will be watching on TV. When I saw that Utah beat USC, I was wishing they had not. The Buffs need this match.

So far we look like we did on Thursday night, can't block anything and miscues on offense. They need to get it together!

Anybody watching on TV was that last shot by usc in? I do not trust that line judge at all!

Could just be my bias but it seems like anything close and it's his call it always goes to the other team

Well-that was heartbreaking- 2 set ponts for Buffs, but USC wins set 2 , I believe 27-25?

They're competing so hard- get set 3!

Thanks, hard to tell without instant replay at the game.

We were wondering about that touch call too. That call could have changed the outcome of that set. Bummer

Is that 24 straight sets dropped to USC? ****! I can't stand that. What is it with USC? Those first two sets were totally winnable for the Buffs. ****!

Don't overstate it- looking at the information guide, I think it's "only" 23 sets. (Wow- that last Buff set win was back in 1997, when sets went to 15 points and you could only score a point on your own serve.)

On the bright side, definitely the toughest they've played against the Trojans, so hopefully they'll get them next year.

Now, probably the toughest test awaits Thursday, as undefeated and #2 ranked Washington is HOT right now- haven't lost a set in their last 5 matches, and haven't had to go 5 sets in their last 10 matches in the tough Pac 12. On the positive side, the Buffs, based on their win last year and how tightly they played the Huskies the 1st two sets in Seattle this year, may match up with them relatively well. So, it will be interesting to see how it goes.

Go Buffs!

From the frying pan in to the fire with Washington.

Was disappointed in the way they played in the 3rd set. First two sets could have gone either way. Team was not in 3rd set.
