Utah Tailgate - Roll Call

I'm starting this early because they just announced the kickoff time will either be 11:00 AM or Noon. Both times suck, frankly, but the Noon start time would be less crappy. Let's hope for that. If it's a Noon kickoff, I can try to break out the jambalaya pot again, but only if it looks like we'll get at least 20 folks at the tailgate. If it's an 11:00 kickoff, I'll be pissed off. Breakfast burritos are fine and all, but that's getting a little old. Don't know exactly what I'll do if that's the case. Open to suggestions.

So who's coming to the tailgate?

This might be one of the lowest attendance in a loooong time. I am not basing that off of anything but speculation. I think I have just about entered off-season mode.

Game time has been set for 11:00 AM. Sorry, but that's just too early for jambalaya. It takes an hour for the food to cook.

Im open to suggestions. Please, suggest something.

so im just gonna come out an say it... Jambalaya burritos or breakfast jambalaya burrito... it is an allbuffs tradition to have jambalaya at least once a year

I'm with BCS, but if there's not enough participants, hamburgers, brats, chicken, etc: are options.

The problem is the time. By the time it's finished, there isn't much time to eat it before we have to pack up and head into the game.

How about pre-made jambalaya burritos?

Green Chili smothered scrambled eggs, jalapeño cheese corn bread, bacon and chorizo snausage.

Leftovers from Thanksgiving, reheated turkey, potatoes, sides. Everyone can bring their favorite/least favorite side dish. And lots of canned cranberry slime, and someone has to bring their weird uncle that the family dislikes. That seems most logical to me.

Not a terrible idea.

Late as usual and won't be there anyways but for future early games.

Breakfast pizzas.

Fry up some bacon, some sausage, cook up some scrambled eggs. Pizza sauce is easy out of a can, shredded cheese, some olives, diced peppers, etc.

Put desired ingredients on a pita and throw it on the grill, works even better if you have a pot cover to cover with.

Cooks up quickly, adaptable to personal taste, and any leftover ingredients are easily storable and usable for other things.

If you want to get a little more complicated and take a little longer you can use raw pizza dough made into personal sized disk or even get the frozen dinner roll dough and just roll it out before topping it.

Sound good mtn but how about green chili instead of pizza sauce

That sounds like it would be good, especially if you had one that was a little thick and would cook to the consistency of a pizza sauce.

I also like red chili sauce, something like a good enchilada sauce.

Going to have to try the green though, make it with some chunks of chorizo.

Soda it is. I drive right by Crispy Kreme on the way. How many fresh dozens you want me to bring?
