BOULDER— The University of Colorado volleyball team will face Northern Colorado in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, Dec. 5, at 4:30 p.m. at Moby Arena in Fort Collins, Colo.

This is the 18th tournament appearance for the Buffs, their second straight. Last season the Buffs qualified for the tournament for the first time since 2006 and advanced to the second round before falling to No. 10 Minnesota in Minneapolis. CU is no stranger to playing the NCAA Tournament at Colorado State. Since 2000, CU has played a tournament match four times in Fort Collins. The last time the Buffs traveled north for the tournament was in 2005.

Brooks: Future Starts Friday For Taylor Simpson, BuffsRelease: December 04, 2014
By: B.G. Brooks, Contributing Editor

BOULDER – Really, truly, Taylor Simpson is doing her best to follow her own common sense and her coach’s mandate. One match at a time . . . don’t look ahead . . . can’t make the second step without taking the first.

But it’s tough, man, is it tough.

Simpson and her University of Colorado volleyball teammates can envision themselves advancing to the NCAA Tournament’s Regional competition next week in Minneapolis. But before that can happen, they have to win on Saturday in Colorado State’s Moby Arena. And before they win on Saturday they have to win on Friday against Northern Colorado (4:30 p.m.).

I'm glad that I'll be able to take a couple of hours away from studying for finals for this match. Saturday is going to be a problem though. Maybe I can watch from my computer.

Sadly, over the years, I have often found the people in the ticket office to be less than helpful.

In + 1. leaving work at 3PM. first event I'll have attended at Moby -- <sarcasm>Big bucket list item getting checked off there</sarcasm>.

I'm not sure if they're charging for parking, but according to my son, "Directly across the major street, Shields, from the arena, there is a neighborhood with ample parking options; it will be a very short walk to the arena."

Sadly, over the years, I have often found the people in the ticket office to be less than helpful.
My limited experiences before were always with basketball and they were more helpful. No excuse, but I'm sure it was a college kid making $8/ hour and thinking about which party he was going to this weekend -- care level low.

Glad you are going to the match Hokie. Yes there is a charge for parking at Moby arena. Last I remember was $5. But that was several years ago so be prepared for it to be higher. I never tried looking for neighborhood parking but most of the time I've been there for a CU vs CSU BB or VB match and CSU draws quite well for those.

At Moby. Good to see Gwen Herring is warming up with the rest of the team, so her last concussion must have been less severe than the 1st.

19-12 CU. TO UNC Pfefferle serve doing most damage, with T Simpson and Edelman's also getting some points.

Buffs get set 2 25-15. G. Simpson jump serve mostly going in today and often causing problems, and Buffs finish off the set behind Herring serve.

This is team is awesome. Taylor Simpson. Just so fun to watch. Great CU athlete that is one of our best!! And Pfefferle, Gabby Simpson also awesome. So many weapons. Alexis Austin taking off and has finished season strong! And most impressive is Katelyn cuff in the middle. She has been a great surprise this year! Look forward to seeing Joslyn hayes when she recovers from injury too.

One more set this match and then let's beat CsU tomorrow as the best thank you to Taylor Simpson for what she has done!!

FINISH THEM!!!

11-10 UNC. TO UNC. (Believe it was 9-2 or 9-3 UNC at one point)
