Fletch: 9 points (2/2 FGs, 5/6 FTs), 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal + 2 turnovers

Dustin: 12 points (5/5 FGs, 2/2 FTs), 2 rebounds, 0 turnovers

Dom: 5 points (2/5 FGs, 1/1 3pt), 1 rebound, 2 steals, 0 turnovers

J-Hop: 8 points (3/3 FGs, 2/2 FTs), 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal + 2 turnovers

The story line from tonight is obviously Ski with a monster 29 point effort on Senior Night with the hip pointer. The secondary story is going to be Josh playing with so much heart and aggression through a serious back injury to 14 pts, 6 rebs, 3 assists, 1 steal & 3 blocks.

But what made tonight feel like something good was happening that might mean a corner is turning is that the underclassmen wings and guards played with maturity and aggression, playing a huge role in bringing home this win. That was a ton of production: 34 points on only 15 shots. Great night for these guys.

They all seemed to be playing with a lot more confidence tonight. Hope they can keep it going for a few more weeks. A road sweep would bring them to 15-15 for the year and possibly a changed attitude for the tournament.

The underclassmen have not progessed near as quick as expected. But there was a lot of good things tonight. The team has the talent to shock some people in Vegas. They cannot be content. They cannot relax. Tad cannot let up on them. IN tournaments anything can happen And this team needs to believe that.

For much of this game, the young guys were running, playing hare, and looked like they were having fun tonight.

Fletch and Dustin really caught my eye tonight. Dom and Jhop comin along.

Very happy for Ski. Josh is going to be a monster next year if healthy. Our good luck. Good Sunday for the Buffs!

Likey

Early this season I was concerned about the lack of progression for the sophomores. Then it played out in the mid season slumping. Glad to see the mistakes go down and the contribution go up.
Josh needs a healthy back in a big way. Tonight a rebound was right in front of him, he elevated about an inch, asu player behind him jumped and snatched the ball. Here's to Josh's back issues resolving in off season.

DT scored his 12 pts in like 11 minutes as well if I remember the stat line correctly. Fletch was very aggressive and fun to watch. Like to see him drive to the hoop. These guys all played well. The backdoor screens, getting to the rim and playing up tempo helped this team and especially these guys tonight. Outside of the officiating, this was a fun game to watch.

I thought Fletcher's poise at the line in the final minute was telling. I know one of the ft's bounced out but he was completely poised. Confidently walked up and did what he needed to do. You can always spot the guy who lets that situation get to him.

Not as big a factor as being able to get out in transition but Boyle said in the presser we went away from the ball screens because of how asu defends them. Was nice to avoid the endless replay of screen defenders pushing our ball handlers out to half court.

Then he got benched an Talton played 10 minutes... The rotations still make little to no sense.

Dustin's dunk was huge as well. That really got the crowd going.

All 3 were cutting to the hoop
All 3 were playing effort defense
All 3 played a large hand in getting Ski a win in his final home game

The sophomores have been inconsistent, but dammit I am excited about their potential still. If they can keep cutting to the basket, the offense will open up for us, all 3 can shoot the deep ball and all 3 can take it to the hoop...excited for them next year.

I don't think I would say that J-Hop can shoot the deep ball but he is one of the only guards on the team that can finish near the basket.

He has an inconsistent shot from the floor. But I thought it improved from last year so hopefully the progress continues this offseason.

Agree. He is just dangerous enough that teams have to make sure not to leave him wide open, but he isn't going to be the kind of guy to kill you from behind the arc either.

None of the sophomore's have taken enough 3's this year, but all have shown they can hit them at a good rate when they do shoot.

Hopkins - 37.1%
Thomas - 33.3%
Fletcher - 53.3%

Point is, if one of them can cut to the hoop and kick it out, we have guys who can make the shot

Glad they played well - the team needed it. I didnt realize jhop was having such a good game. it was obvious DT & Fletch were playing well though.
