Askia Booker or Levi Knutson

Better Senior Guard

Knutson was a very integral part to a successful team and played a big part in a lot of important games. He was a key piece of a pure team game, and often pushed the team over the hump in close games.

Booker was the team this year though. The team was obviously not nearly as successful but Ski was a better player and much more important to the team than Levi was.

Ski, hands down. Levi was a great part of core players which achieved something special.

Askia did not have near the supporting cast that levi did in terms of working together. My vote is for ski.

I'm not really sure how you can vote Levi. He's a complementary scorer who creates floor spacing, scores without the ball in his hands, and hits his FTs. But if he's your first, second, or even third scoring option, your team is probably in some trouble. He fit perfectly with our incredible slashing/handles team of Burks, Higgins, and Relphorde.

Booker shouldn't ever be the number one option on a team because of his size, but if you pair him with a tall backcourt mate who can handle the basketball, he's a great second scorer who can get tough baskets when shots aren't falling. He just needs to be paired with someone like Dinwiddie and if you have a great post presence, he will be a major cog on a winning team.

Ski was 'the team' because he had to be. Nobody else could / would step up, especially when XJ and Scott were out with injuries. Good job in a difficult role, often having to take less-than-ideal shots.

Levi was the Big XII 6th Man of The Year, 6th in the country in offensive rating (131.2), 10th in eFG% (63.6), 14th in TS% (65.9), & 37th in TO rate (10.8).
You could easily argue that Levi was the best D1 shooter in 2010-11. He was an elite offensive piece.

Ski had his best season & finally became somewhat efficient but you can't say he was elite in any category except for number of shots taken. There's a bunch of players in D1 who would have better counting stats than Ski if they were taking 37% of their team's shots. Without him, we probably only win like 5 games this year but it would've forced the guys we need to develop to do more, um, developing.

I look at it like this--- are you going to remember Ski for his Charleston Classic MVP, KU Euro step, brilliance as a 6th man for the P12 title or are you going to remember him for his best AI rendition on a bad team? Alternatively, does anyone even recall Levi's first 3 years at CU?

Really a question? Ski, and I'm surprised how many voted for Levi. Levi was good, but he's no Ski.

Well, ****. I meant to vote for Ski, but clicked the wrong one. My Moderator powers don't allow me to change poll votes, so can a real Mod change mine so I can not be embarrassed here?

Nope. We're keeping it as is you damn Ski Hater!!!!

Glad people came to their senses here, although 25% of you are dumbasses

Now that Tad has said this was Ski's decision, wonder if anyone would change their mind on this one?

Cannot imagine how bad the team this year would have been without Ski. Imagine that for a while if you voted Levi. Levi was a cog in a bigger machine. Ski was a huge cog in a little machine

Booker's Senior Yr Win Shares: 3.6

Levi's Senior Yr Win Shares: 4.0

According to sports-reference http://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/askia-booker-1.html#all_players_totals

This team was going to be bad regardless but Ski stunted other players' opportunities to grow. He was a more valuable player than Levi for his first 3 seasons, but a lot of you are too blind to see that stats & being a valuable TEAM player all point to Levi being the better senior guard.

Now Ski stunted growth? :bang: I'll wait for the obligatory "he shoots it too damn much!"

Oh, and if you normalize the win shares to win shares/40 minutes, they are almost identical...1.53 vs 1.56

Better player? Ski by far. Better Senior leader? Levi.

Levi

I wasn't looking for a reasonable debate. I was looking for a revealing one.

Levi was a better leader and made players around him better. He was a true PG and very efficient shooter.

Ski is a scorer. Volume shooter, who scored significantly more than Levi.

However, more points scored does not equate to being a better player, just a better scorer. The original question was Ski or Levi. I would say, it depends on what you need. If you are in need of a scoring PG, Ski's your man. If you want a leader, head up PG who improves team play and is efficient, Levi no doubt. There are needs for both type of players

Are you talking about Nate?
