In early on an under-the-radar prospect here. He's got great length and speed (11.25 100m as a sophomore this spring). Charles Clark is following on twitter from our staff, so that may point to Clark recruiting Jacksonville as part of his Georgia territory.

We would be looking at him as a Safety? Seems built more like a wideout.

He's a '17 kid. At 6'4" 185 he could easily project into a 200lb + safety.

Agree that with the size and athleticism WR might make sense but it might be that he prefers defense. Might also be that he is one of those guys better at knocking balls down than catching them.

Either way if wants to come to CU as a safety welcome aboard.

A 6'4" 200+ pound Safety would be a gigantic person back there. Just can't imagine us having a Strong Safety bigger than Kam Chancellor and Taylor Mays.

Could also mean that in 2+ years he would show up on campus as an OLB. Or maybe 6'4" is a little generous.

But you're right - NFL safeties are rarely over 6'2". He's an outlier as a safety if that's his target position.

Very true. I sometimes forget how young these guys are and that by the time they are ready to step on campus the kid could look completely different.

Yes, and if he ends up as one of those hybrid coverage LBs we could use that as well.

Hadn't looked at his profile since May of last year when CU was the first to offer and Speed didn't even have a profile on any site.

His recruitment has blown up a tad bit. o_O

Does anyone else notice how many of these guys we are in on early? It seems like a lot of thes guys we are recruiting, we were the "First to offer." I give our staff a lot of credit for that.

A lot of credit to HCMM, RG and Lance Carl for putting together a much more robust administrative staff for recruiting efforts and the budget to support that. There's been a little press on this, but I'm not sure everyone is aware of it. One of the big changes at CU that started a few years ago is that the Buffs built a scouting department on the professional model.
