We can't have nice things (XJ) - hat tip to Ryan Koenigsberg

As important to the basketball team as Tupou was going to be to our defense. This sucks. I hope he heals and has a great career whether it's in a Buff uniform again or a professional one, but Jesus. Injuries have set our program back in the last decade as much as any scandal or poor coaching.

Never wish anything bad to happen to any players and here is to a speedy recovery. Hopefully this helps him with a little maturity and appreciation for his opportunity on the team.

Sucks for 2015-2016 but silver lining?

But what does this do to recruiting plans.

The assumption had to be the XJ's scholly would be coming open after this season. Taking a RS because of the injury means one less opening in the recruiting class. Then four the following season meaning we get back into another cycle of imbalanced classes.

Poor guy. Keep your head up and come back stronger XJ.

On an insanely aggressive timeline, you could get XJ back for a tournament run. At that point, it would be better to let him keep his RS IMO.

Love how it took 2 weeks from after it happened for it to come out or leak at first. Probably no coincidence that the university was burning up the phone lines 2 weeks ago looking for season ticket renewals and allowing existing season ticket holders to change seats. An Achilles tear is diagnosed immediately in most cases, and most don't require an MRI most of the time either. Just curious why else it took 2 weeks from the day the injury happened to release it, all while XJ has been silent on social media.

Maybe privacy played a role.

This makes no sense. XJ is a good player but not the reason people go to games.

For the record, timeline for renewals and upgrades was established months ago. This is absolutely entirely false.

Confirmed by Tad, although he´s not ruling out a return this season.
Yeah. And I'm going to grow my hair back. No way he comes back this season. Despite what Kobe did, this is a one year recovery.

Have the "This wouldn't have happened if Tad hadn't forced his team to stay in Boulder to work out" posts come to fruition yet? Good. Don't let them.
