Don't the Buffs already have two guards committed in this class? It seems they should be going after a big or two.

^^ The Recruiting is ridiculous. A roster filled with wings, why not bring in more wings - yet nobody to replace Josh Scott, Xavier Johnson or Wesley Gordon (already a Jr.). Tad must be assuming Tory Miller is a starting caliber player in the Pac-12, will never have foul issues, get tired or injured. The roster is looking solid, for UNC; Not CU in the Pac-12 Conference!

I don't think you have to have more bigs; you recruit the best players... obviously you don't want 10 Xavier Johnson's on the roster, but having a roster made up mostly of guards and forwards really isn't a problem at all.

You are not winning a title without some size, but there is no reason CU couldn't build a dangerous tourney team without having a dominant big. If your best four players are all guards, and they can all shoot, slash, defend, pass and rebound... then you start those four guards.

Maybe they had a conversation with Satterwhite about going to prep school or redshirting coming off of his injury and need someone to step in and play as a freshman?

I've said all along that in Tad's ideal world, we'll be going with a smaller line up. A point guard, 2 wings, a 3/4 combo guy (think XJ) and a big. While I personally would like to have another big, I'd rather have talent right now - positions be damned.

I am trying to think of a team that had recent success with this type of line-up.....

Point taken, and that seems logical... If, Tad already had replacements for Scott, XJ and Gordon. There are plenty of wings on the team, but nobody left to rebound after this year. UCLA, Arizona, Oregon, Stanford, Utah and even emerging Oregon State all have big men who can rebound and impact the paint. If Satterwhite is going to be out for an additional year, there are enough wings to cover and play that position while he is out. There are only 2 PF's and no C's after this year - that is alarming, if you intend on winning in the PAC 12.

No idea how he will shape-up since I have seen limited film and everything has talked about his offense and his shooting, but the Juco we took in the last cycle has 3 years of eligibility, is listed as a PF and comes in at 6'8" 215 if the numbers are to be believed.

Villanova goes with 4 guards every year and is a perennial top 25 team. The Illinois team in 2005 is a model for this as well.

Nothing wrong with playing small, Duke wasn't real big outside of Oak and Plumlee. I just wonder if we are finally gonna see some pressing and some transition basketball.

Guzonjic came in at 240 and in pretty good shape.

Thanks for the new data, Juco's are tough to keep track of.

Especially the kind that spent a year back home in Bosnia working out.

Pretty unique situation since he suffered a torn meniscus as a frosh at Juco. Because he was a full qualifier out of HS, he didn't need to fulfill any of the Juco graduation requirements, etc. So he went back to Bosnia (counts as his redshirt year) and took a year off to train and rehab. The rehab on that sort of injury is not too much, so really he was working on his game. This of course took him further off the map than Midland JC.

VCU? James Madison? Butler? Dayton? Utah? Davidson? Maybe not all are identical to that projected line-up , but all are closer to that model than the UCLA/UK/Duke model.

Success in college seems to follow the "one RB beast inside, coupled with a highly competent point and one one knock-down 3 pt. shooter. Buffs lacked the latter two last year and it showed.

Too, if he wants a shot at League $$$, rather than playing the next five years in Israel or China, maybe the light bulb will finally go on for XJ in his forced RS year?
