Big Monday doesn't have a lot of great games, but there is a high volume due to the holiday week.

I'll be checking out the St. John's / Vanderbilt game at 12:30 on ESPN2.

Vandy took it to St. John's.

Wake Forest with an impressive win against Indiana. (Danny Manning is a damn good coach.)

Right now watching Marquette (which has been a sh!t team) control the game against #22 LSU. Would be a major surprise upset if it holds up in the 2nd half.

So....are you saying Crean should return to Marquette? Wake is just another stepping stone on Manning's way back to Lawrence!

Ben Simmons from LSU is the best player I've seen this year. Wow. That dude's gonna make some bank next year.

Not a D1 opponent tonight, but former Buff Chris Jenkins has 25 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal for Detroit.

This is a Wake side picked 11th in the ACC, granted Manning may well do better. While the ACC has had a few silly losses and this Duke team has taken a step back, the B1G has been crap MSU and Purdue notwithstanding. I think the B1G is about to lose their grip on the ACC/B1G challenge, though I haven't memorized all of the matches to see who has the favorable breaks this year.

It's fun seeing Mizzou be the equivalent of CU circa 2008. At least we fought hard and kept games close. They might be worse.

Marquette beats LSU 81-80.

Simmons' stat line: 21 points, 20 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals

Is this you trying not to remember that Maryland is now a B1G program? :D

Maryland is on temporary suspension for needing to stage a large comeback to edge out Rider in the final seconds of their last game. I'm sure the Twerps will be just fine, but that was pitiful.

Illinois currently getting boatraced by Chicago State, 66-52

haha

I saw that with Chicago State. That's the team Iowa State beat by 40 something. I saw they're 3-1, so I was wondering who they beat: DII opponent, DIII opponent and a NAIA opponent. Illinois is pathetic.

UT-Arlington is looking to follow up its win against Ohio State by taking another scalp. Up 39-28 at Memphis with a little over 15 minutes left.

Naturally I jinxed it. Illini closing in

How did Turgeon all of a sudden become a much better coach? Did he pull the "I'm not gonna take it anymore" attitude out of his hat ,as Tad appears to have done? As close friends, could they have communicated on this? Inquiring minds want to know!

NC State with a nice OT win over LSU.

Makes you wonder a bit about LSU (and the SEC). Back to back losses to Marquette and this NCSU squad (another year of NCSU on the bubble is in the cards). LSU certainly isn't top 25 right now.

Ohio State falls to Louisiana Tech 82-74 after losing to UT-Arlington

Maryland in a battle with Illinois State

That LA Tech win is not an upset. They're pretty good this year and Ohio State is not.

Not a good sign when a CUSA squad picked 5th beating you on your home court isn't an upset. I'm certainly not highly concerned about UVA's upcoming visit to OSU. They've got a rough enough OOC as it is, catching a break there is just fine.

Yeah. If flying to Ohio, I'd be much more worried about Xavier or Cincy.

K State is giving former #1 North Carolina all they want on ESPN2. Up 49-46 with a little over 10 minutes left.

KState is near the bottom of the Big XII barrel, I believe. A second loss here would be pretty disastrous. Of course Roy (as usual) would be made every excuse in the book because of Paige

UNLV up 52-48 on Indiana with 9:40 left.

Given common opponents, Buffs resume is helped by a Rebels win. A strong MWC (and WCC & Big West) is good for Pac-12 RPI.

UNLV wins 72-69. Hell of a good basketball game made better by Bill Walton's announcing.
