[/SIZE] CORONA - His father's words live in the memory of Corona Centennial High point guard Shannon Sharpe, helping to guide the 17-year-old senior.

His mother's words nurture the leader of the Mountain View League champion basketball team that won the CIF Division 2A title last year.

Through the deaths of both, Sharpe has persevered on and off the court, leading the team in scoring and rebounding while attaining a GPA of 3.4. His peers are inspired by his poise in the most difficult of situations. His leaders laud him.

Gotta admire what he has been able to do and love the potential he brings to the team.

His game is very impressive. Real explosive. He brings something we haven't had at the point in a while.

Also, his personal story has to make you want to root for this young guy. I can pretty much guarantee that for a teenager who has had to deal with the loss of both parents dealing with the "pressure" of a Big 12 basketball game won't phase him. Especially since he took that extra year at prep school to collect himself and get things together.

Welcome to the Buffs family, Shannon!

Is Shannon some kind of basketball manager on the team now? or does this guy just have a remarkable resemblance to him?

*I am basing this mostly off of seeing him at the games, not this picture.

That's great. I'm very happy that he's getting his degree from CU. One of those guys who had it tough but still has a personality that lights up a room.

He used to live a couple of doors down from me in my apartment complex. I talked to him a few times and he was the nicest guy. Glad to see him back and getting his degree.

he is one of the most genuinely happy people I've ever met.
