The Press-Enterprise[/SIZE] CORONA - His father's words live in the memory of Corona Centennial High point guard Shannon Sharpe, helping to guide the 17-year-old senior.

His mother's words nurture the leader of the Mountain View League champion basketball team that won the CIF Division 2A title last year.

Through the deaths of both, Sharpe has persevered on and off the court, leading the team in scoring and rebounding while attaining a GPA of 3.4. His peers are inspired by his poise in the most difficult of situations. His leaders laud him.

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) ―University of Colorado men's basketball head coach Jeff Bzdelik announced Wednesday that Shannon Sharpe from Corona, Calif. has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his education and play basketball at CU beginning in the fall of 2009

His game is very impressive. Real explosive. He brings something we haven't had at the point in a while.

Also, his personal story has to make you want to root for this young guy. I can pretty much guarantee that for a teenager who has had to deal with the loss of both parents dealing with the "pressure" of a Big 12 basketball game won't phase him. Especially since he took that extra year at prep school to collect himself and get things together.
