... does Tory sit for biting a zoomie?

I don't have a point of reference as to how light or severe Tad will treat this incident, but if he sits a player for being late to a shoot around, it stands to reason Tory will receive something other than a dental plan.

So, what say you AllBuffs? How long does Tory's tush push the pine for this?

Tad probably going to wait to see if the conference office issues a suspension (since it was a non-conference game don't know how much authority they have but assuming they do.)

It would be easy for him to give him two since the next couple games look like not having Tory out there shouldn't change the outcome much.

Tad may be upset by the lack of control on Tory's part but may actually have been glad to see some fire on the floor.

Based on the post game interview with Tad, I see him out for whatever is the required games out for getting tossed for the flagrant 2. He said he did not know the requirement during the interview but said he hope it was not even a game because he did not think he deserved a suspension. Interesting sequence in the interview

Tad's going to gnaw on his options. It's not to be brushed aside nor flossed over.
Some biting comentary there.

So does Tory get a new callsign from this?

I'll offer...
Tory "Iron Mike" Miller
Tory "The Canibal" Miller
Tory "Munchies" Miller
Tory "Hannibal" Miller

This won't be a popular opinion, but I'd sit him for the remainder of the non-conference schedule plus the first conference game. Biting an opponent is really ridiculous and is an embarrassment to the team and its fans. I think a strong message needs to be sent. That kind of stuff in inexcusable.

Just one man's opinion...

no. I hated hearing that. I like to take pride in the character of my teams. I know for the next three years, other message boards will make reference to this, and for the rest of this season, teams will taunt the Buffs with biting references. I hate that.

part of me wants Boyle to send a message here. its hard to excuse a bite. If I was the coach, I guess it would depend a lot on how mature and contrite Miller's reaction was the next day.

I didn't expect to see Tory before Christmas, but Tad went out of his to defend Tory in the post game presser. Something clearly happened, but the video I have seen is inconclusive at best. I don't know how you accidentally bite somebody, which is what Tory told Tad, but Tory's reaction going to the tunnel also doesn't add up to a guy that just bit somebody and got ejected.

It all seems odd, IMO Tad clearly believes Tory, It isn't like this is a situation where Tory is the go-to guy that you can't suspend because you need to win games or you're going to lose your job.

True, it doesn't exactly leave a cavity in the lineup that can't be filled.

Seriously, how do you decide to bite someone? I understand my 2-year old nephew needs to learn civil behavior, and also may be teething, and I recognize it's impulsive and not planned, but it's just an odd occurrence. Which I guess is why it's rare - Mike Tyson, the soccer guy in Europe recently, now Tory. My take is there should be a couple games off just to make a statement, but it's probably a one-time issue. If it happens again there should be serious repercussions, but I doubt it will.

Tad Boyle has all of the information that no one else on this thread has. I trust his integrity and his judgment. Case closed for me.
