Did anyone hear Hawk on 950

with Scott and Al? He is awesome to listen to. At the end he said "we will be in the national championship game soon." He definitely believes it.

As much as that talk is nice, I'm ready for some results on the field. Talk of national championships right now is a little ridiculous.

Bob Stoops talked about national championships the day he arrived in Norman.

Granted, its all fluff at this point - but I'd rather hear a coach aiming high than low.

Agreed. Hawk has said from day one that if you're not trying to win a national championship, you're not trying. If he doesn't believe in his chances to win it all, then how can he convince an 18-year old to come play here?

:yeahthat:

I totally agree, Barnett was talking about winning Big 12 norths, Hawk is talking NC, I love it!

That interview got me fired up for the season. I think we will be better than most people think. It sounds like the players are buying into Hawk more this summer. Of course the proof will be in the pudding in a little over a month.

Also, when my my dad played, he said Crowder was always talking national titles.

Go play intramurals brutha...:smile2:

Just kidding - but I like to hear how strong he beleives it. As Unleash said, I hear the players are acting much more confident and are really buying into the system.

Enthusiasm is contagious, and just what the Buffs need for the program right now. Hawkins does a great job of keeping the moral up and it could very well be the difference needed for the Buffs to rise from last year's disappointments.

For a program as proud as and tradition rich as the Colorado Buffaloes I don't think it is ever wrong to entertain the goal of winning the national championship. The title will be coming back to Boulder

I've heard the sizzle. Now serve me some (unsubsidized) steak!

PS Greer is going to be my hero this season. And Hypolite.

Good points all. Time for some wins.

well, we must be getting closer to the season because my black and gold sunglasses are starting to fog up. i am starting to feel the Buff kool-aid take effect.

yep, at this rate, a few more weeks, and i will probably have gone from the "oh, i hope we do ok, but i don't expect much" perspective to the full blown "NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP BABY!!!" feelings of hope as the season comes along.

hopefully, they won't be crushed as violently as they were during and after the msu debacle.

woot.

Good to see you getting in the mood. I just want the season to start. As far as a national championship...lets just take it one game at a time.

Dal, Eddie and Mac had "it," whatever "it" is. I'm sorry, as much as I tried to back Gary, he didn't seem to have "it." He had "it" in 2001 with Bieniemy and Marshall, but the bowl game started me to question what was going on.
I backed him throughout the witch hunt, because that is what it was, a witch hunt. But, 2003, 2004 and 2005, especially the last 3 games of 2005 sent the message that it was over.
Does Hawkins have "it?" I don't know for sure, but I think this coming season will provide some important evidence for the pro or con.

I agree, take it one game at a time.

But Hawk just said they would be in the NC game, not win it. :wink2::smile2:

He better start getting some MUCH better recruits if he plans on making that happen.

MUCH better?

Did you see Boise St last year? Those were all Hawks recruits that slapped OU. Last years CU class was waaaaay better than any class Hawk had at Boise.

Don't worry about our recruiting

Oh but he does, and he should. It will be our recruiting among other things that will make his hucksters the Buffs whippin post very soon

fuskers are still putting together good classes including a excellent O-line class this year, however Cally's 6-8 road record doesn't make me that scared of the huskers even this year.

Recruiting is definetly not NU or Callys problem. Your confidence makes me think we will be on for another avatar bet :smile2:

Recruitings not, but coaching is. What an inconnistent mediocre coach you have. Moments of brightness, but moments of laughing stock. Oh I was wrong on Cally's road record, it's actually 6-9

Bull****. Set the bar high. Current players and recruits had to have heard these comments. Their parents and friends will bring it up if they hadn't. At that impressionable age in life it gets into their heads. He is using the media to talk to his players.

I'm a little jaded after "RTD".

Mass transit will do that to you. You should buy a car. :smile2:

I think Unleash is drunk.

He's is correct sober or drunk that we will win this year.

As for bringing the car in - he must have a real pile of **** that he wants someone to nail so he can collect insurance money...:smile2:

So is Lammie Fusker agreeing to a CU logo on the car also? Or will he be offering something linke wearing a CU cast for his next accident?

no, I just might get a calvin to piss on it while the fusker logo is upside down:smile2:

But that still means there's a goddamn ****ers logo on your car.

ok, I'll put the fuskers logo on the car then put a CU logo over it. Everybody wins, the fusker logo is on my car, but everyone can see who I really pull for!

btw, nothing to worry about it, there will be no logo on the car:smile2:
