ACC/B1G challenge this week. Should be fun. Paige should be back for North Carolina -- we'll find out a lot about Maryland. Looks like another competitive year overall. I see a lot of teams I rate as slightly better having to go on the road.

Monday:

Wake Forest (4-2) @ Rutgers (3-3)

Clemson (4-1) @ Minnesota (4-2)

Tuesday:

Northwestern (5-1) @ Virginia Tech (4-2)

Michigan (4-2) @ NC State (4-2)

Virginia (5-1) @ Ohio State (2-3)

Miami (5-1) @ Nebraska (5-2)

Purdue (6-0) @ Pittsburgh (4-0)

Maryland (6-0) @ North Carolina (5-1)

Wednesday:

Louisville (5-0) @ Michigan State (7-0)

Wisconsin (4-3) @ Syracuse (6-0)

Penn State (3-2) @ Boston College (3-3):

Indiana (4-2) @ Duke (6-1)

Notre Dame (4-2) @ Illinois (3-4)

Florida State (4-1) @ Iowa (4-2)

ACC is 4-1 this season against the B1G in unofficial meetings not part of the challenge.

LSU looks like they were very overrated based on having the best recruit in the nation. Just lost to Charleston to fall to 3-3. Down by 22 at half and never really threatened. 70-58

That previously ranked and hyped LSU squad just got killed by Charleston 70-58 (LSU trailed by 22 at half) to fall to 3-3.

ACC/B1G Challenge is 1-1 after tonight's appetizers:

Wake won @ Rutgers, 69-68

Clemson lost @ Minnesota, 89-83.

Maybe give the ACC the slightest early advantage due to grabbing a road W. Of the 12 remaining games, I think 8 could easily be deemed "toss-ups".

Early games from Tuesday are in the books.

Michigan won at NC State. Good win for them.
Northwestern won at VA Tech. A win is always good, but to need OT in that one? I suspect Northwestern's danceless streak continues.
Villanova beat St. Joe's by 14. Nova looks legit as a Top 10. Solid win against a local rival with some talent.
Virginia won at Ohio State. Hard fought win that I'd call pretty high quality in spite of OSU's struggles this year.

UVA was also without London Perrantes (appendectomy). I'll take that win without the floor general for sure.

I'm off to my first college game of the season. Up to the hilltop to watch USF take on Eastern Washington. Hooray!

ACC/B1G 4-4 now with Carolina and Miami's wins.

Remainder tomorrow:

Louisville (5-0) @ Michigan State (7-0)

Wisconsin (4-3) @ Syracuse (6-0)

Penn State (3-2) @ Boston College (3-3):

Indiana (4-2) @ Duke (6-1)

Notre Dame (4-2) @ Illinois (3-4)

Florida State (4-1) @ Iowa (4-2)

B1G delivered the knockout punch with Wisconsin winning @ Cuse, Penn State winning @ BC, and Michigan State beating Louisville. 7-4 B1G. Best ACC can do is tie now.

LSU 119 North Florida 108. The ****?

Ha, I didn't even see that score, I just saw the ESPN drive by about Ben Simmons had a huge game. They didn't mention it was against ****ty competition in a game that featured no defense.

Ben Simmons is the real deal. Shame that he chose to play where he did. Deserves better coaching and a bigger stage. LSU back to the Dale Brown days of how to bring in some players and go on the occasional tourney run until the NCAA investigators catch up (current HC Johnny Jones was his long-time assistant).

Sometimes with a guy like Simmons it can take a team time to figure out their roles and get going. However, after getting a beat down from Charleston and giving up 108 to North Florida I think it's clear that LSU simply isn't very good and may have some locker room issues. Goes to show how silly preseason rankings are

From the land of red mud and swirling winds -- Tulsa U went into Gallagher-Iba last night and beat okie lite.

Radio schlubs said the crowd was "sparce" and that the visiting spectators were about half those in attendance. They really dogged on the bad performance of the home team.

Travis Ford would be on a lava seat if not for that ridiculous 10 year contract.

.

The thing with Simmons is that he looks really easy to play with. One of those guys who makes his teammates better and loves to share the ball. It's the LeBron mentality. Chemistry should automatically be good with him as your star unless the roster is absolutely littered with head cases.

SIAP

BYU being BYU.

Don't we play these guys next week? Wonder if Emery will still be on suspension by then (assuming he gets suspended).

#14 Syracuse falls at Georgetown. That's 2 straight losses for the Orange but no shame in losing on the road to Wiscy and Gtown. Classic team that went from underrated to overrated. But there're right there in the #25 range this year, I think.

Gonzaga-Arizona in a good one on ESPN right now.

I wish just once someone would go full speed down the sideline and blow Sean Miller up when he's 8 ft on the floor being Arizona's 6th defender.

Arizona is vulnerable this year. Can't shoot from deep and they lost a ton of leadership from the point without McConnell.

Wiltjer is killing Arizona.

I'm really impressed with Few's coaching. Zags are showing discipline to keep feeding the post. Hopefully Tad picked up some tips with that when he assisted for Few this summer. Entry passing is a thing of beauty.

Last 6 minutes or so was a brick fest, but really big comeback win for Arizona in Spokane.

#9 North Carolina absolutely destroyed an undefeated Davidson squad in Chapel Hill today (98-65). Tar Heels are starting to play like a #1 seed.

BC loses to something called UMass-Lowell

What was it about Al Skinner's 7 NCAA Tournament appearances (which included a Sweet 16 and four Round of 32) that BC found so beneath them to fire him?

My terrible Toreros bead San Diego State outside at Petco Park today. STDSU is definitely down this year, because my Toreros will be fortunate to finish higher than 8th in the WCC.

Held SDSU to 13 points in the 1st half and held on. I saw that and couldn't believe it. I was hoping for about half that Aztec roster to sign at CU.

It was so unbelievable that ESPN had the teams backwards on their scoreboard for the entire game and it didn't get fixed until like an hour after it finished.
