How is Xavier not ranked #1? They're undefeated against the nation's #2 ranked schedule.

Xavier needs more love but Michigan State has wins over Louisville, Kansas, Providence, and Florida. Also, have to give M. St. credit for pulling out the victory against a really good Oakland squad captained by Kay Felder (Nate Robinson 2.0). They won that game without their Wooden award candidate Denzel Valentine.

RPI games related to CU are crap today, but there is some good hoops otherwise as the B1G gets going + some cross-conference matchups.

#14 Purdue at Wisconsin (5:00, BTN)
Florida State at Florida (5:00, ESPN2)
Wake Forest at LSU (5:00, ESPNU)
#1 Michigan State at Iowa (7:00, BTN)
UC Irvine at #2 Kansas (7:00, ESPNU)
UConn at Texas (7:00, ESPN2)

Temple at #22 Cincinnati going down to the final 2 minutes with Temple up by 5. Temple's only 5-5, so this would clear a path for the Buffs to enter the Top 25 if they could complete the upset and our boys take care of business in the Bay Area.

Villanova destroyed Xavier today and Providence took down Butler. Nova & the Friars look like the class of a very tough Big East after today.

Love that the Big East has its identity back as a badass basketball conference. Too bad football killed the old big east so it's sans Syracuse and UConn now.

I seem to catch Villanova at their worst (getting owned by Oklahoma and Virginia are the two games I've seen the most of). It's left me with the impression that no Big East team will be making the Final Four, but there are 3 or so that are legitimate Elite Eight contenders.

I was watching some Kris Dunn highlights today and that kid is special. It's too bad the rest of his team seems to be marginal talents. Maybe he has enough game to pull off a run like the UConn teams (formerly of the Big East) with Kemba Walker and Shabazz Napier.

If Texas Tech closes out its game against Texas, they really need to be ranked next week. They'll be 11-1, have played a damn good schedule, and their resume is much better than some teams that are in the Top 25. It was ridiculous that they were getting fewer votes than CU last week.

Iowa wins at #14 Purdue. Not a bad week for the Hawkeyes: wins over #1 and @ #14.

Attended UVA/Notre Dame this evening. Hoos won 77-66. UVA's defense is not quite what it was, but the offense is far better. ND isn't what they were last year, but they should make the Big Dance.

No one had a better week than Iowa. Headed straight for the Top 25 at 11-3.

Took down #1 Michigan State and followed it up by beating #14 Purdue on the road (after being down 17 at halftime).
