Tonight, we've got a couple great games.

#3 UVA at #12 Miami (5:00, ESPN)
#17 Iowa State at #14 West Virginia (7:00, ESPN)

Big week for my Hoos. On the road at Miami tonight and then Gameday visits Charlottesville for UVA/UNC on Saturday.

Hurricanes favored by 1 tonight

Muck Fiami

i like Larranaga though.

UNC is on 3 losses, UVA, Miami 4. A win tonight would set up the meeting in Charlottesville as the game that likely decides the ACC (only meeting between Hoos and Heels). Not going to get my hopes up too much, though. Miami is so tough at home these days

After K, obviously, Larranaga is my favorite coach in the ACC. He worked his way up and put in the years, with good mentors to be had. I remember hearing a pregame speech he gave to George Mason...and damn...how do you not want to put in that extra effort for that guy.

Tony Bennett though...talk about the next star to take over the college coaching reins. I hope he stays around and doesn't jump to NBA. Brogdon is giving Brice Johnson a serious run for ACC player of the year.

Do you think Bennett would consider NBA? I don't know why, but I always figured him as a college lifer.

I hope not, Virginia is a very underrated college basketball job and he is doing great there. It is so hard to be an NBA coach as it is all up to the GM if you have a good team or not.

Certainly have to be careful about what job you take. Billy Donovan clearly wanted to coach in the NBA, but he held out until he landed a team with great pieces with the OKC Thunder. Fred Hoiberg also went to a good spot in Chicago, though not quite the stacked deck.

And honestly, both of them have looked pretty lost at times this year. More and more coaches need to realize it's more likely to be John Beilein than it is to be Brad Stevens.
