My breakdown of the Buffs Season

After carefull consideration I've revised my predictions for the Buffs this year. Now, flame if you want I'm not writing this to be mean but just my predictions on each game. Now, the breakdown:

Colorado St.- WIN
Coming out of last season's close loss, I think CU is going to be hungry for this one and I think the game will stay within 10 points but a win none the less for the Buffs.
Arizona St.- LOSS
Don't really think the Buffs are going to be able to run with the Devils here, they're just simply outclassed talent wise and I think the outcome will be similar to last year.
Florida St.-LOSS
Not really expecting much out of the Buffs here, I think FSU is going to put a hurt on the Buffs.
Miami (OH)-WIN
Not much to say...big win here.
Oklahoma-LOSS
Too much talent, too much power. Stoops is gonna coast through this one.
Baylor-WIN
Baylor is going to choke bad this year.
Kansas St.-LOSS
That little bastard Freeman is going to have matured this year and I think Josh is going to pass all day long on the Buff's secondary. 7-10 point Loss here. Plus, I saw the boy play....freaking CANNON of an arm.
Kansas-WIN
Mangino eats too much and doesn't make the game
Texas Tech-LOSS
I think TT is going to be a Dark Horse to a lot of teams this year.
Missouri-LOSS
Again, Booger is learning the Tiger offense well and I think Missouri is going to exceed a lot of expectations this year, possible playing in the Big12 Championship.
Iowa St.-WIN
I give the clones another couple years before Chizik has any real effect in Ames.
Nebraska-LOSS
Come on...who you think I was gonna pick?

Season 5 and 7

All together, improvement for the Buffs under Hawk but I'd give it another 2 seasons before Hawk's guys start working into the program and things start to click.

Thoughts?

**** you.

:yeahthat:

I'll be disappointed if the Buffs don't make a bowl game this year. I'm expecting a minimum of 6 wins. 7-5 would be a good season.

They weren't very far from being 6-6 last year. A few changes here and there (and a passing game) and they're a .500 team.

I think that is what you get with the Buffs this year. One can easily justify anywhere from 4 to 7 wins for this team. I think we will have a better idea of what kind of season to expect after the ASU game.

Funny you are mentioning all these blowouts by FSU and OU when CU pretty much was in every single game till the 4th qtr last year. This CU team is physically stronger and the offense is improved. I think the doubters are gonna be surprised. I don't see us winning 10 games, but I would be shocked if the buffs didn't win 6 or 7 games.

A very safe prediction there, Mooseknuckle. No real upsets either way.

I think you'll see the buffs pull at least one that no one expects. FSU is an upset special waiting to happen. Semenoles have huge QB questions, and I think that Hawk will turn to the back pages of the play book for special plays. That game is a huge recruiting weekend, and Hawk will pull out all the stops.

Nor do I think Hawk's team will be caught flat-footed against your cornholers' trickeration this year. In Boulder, that game should always scare you.

And here's my breakdown of Nebraska's season.

Nevada: W

USC: L
Ball St: W
Iowa St: W
@ Missouri: L
Oklahoma St: W
Texas A&M: W
@ Texas: L
@ Kansas: W
Kansas St: W

Oklahoma-LOSS
Too much talent, too much power. Stoops is gonna coast through this one.

I don't disagree with the Loss, but I doubt it will be a coast game. Last year in Norman the score going into the 4th Quarter was 10-0. I expect a close loss for the Buffs based on the fact CU will be better offensively than last year and stronger. Couple that with the fact it is a home game and OU is still a little questionable at QB, I think it will be again close going into the 4th quarter.

I see the Buffs finishing 6-6 with a win over Mizzou. The Tigers always play bad in Boulder and The Pickel is still the coach, so a late season swoon is for certain.

I think camel toe gave us a sober look at the season and this is a sober look at there's, but for both of us we are could do better the only mortal locks for NU to get pounded on this schedule are SC and UT.

As for us getting blown out I think we will get hammered by FSU with all the coaching improvements they made its going to be real tough on us to compete in that game, OU we have a better shot in becuase of their QB cluster-****. I really think the biggest shot for us to get blown out though is Texas Tech, they have to be pissed after last year, oh and I see KSU as highly winable, one man teams can be streaky and freeman has his disaster moments, and they only beat UT last year becuase they knocked Colt McCoy out.

I agree except for the Missouri game. Mizzery will probably be favored, but they're still Mizzery, and Pinkel is still the head coach.

That would be like my second favorite team going through the season undefeated. Because my two favorite teams are Colorado and anybody playing Nebraska!

I don't think your final tally is that far out of the realm of possibility.

I don't expect the Buffs to get blown out in too many (if any) games, but a 5-7 or 6-6 campaign wouldn't surprise me.

I hear ya. In all seriousness, I do agree with yours. I would not be surprised if the corn lost 5 games. Like us, they still need to prove it on the field. And Slash has come up short in every big game he has coached.

I hate to say it, but considering that the Huskers have beaten us in Boulder 6 out of the last 7 times they have come, I doubt they are too scared:sad1:

Nebraska peaked out last year and Sam Keller is no Taylor. If it took Taylor over 3 years to master the intricacies of the offense, why should that change for Keller? Also big question mark is your defense, the DL and CB. Here's my predictions:

Nevada: w
@ Wake Forest: L
USC: L
Ball St: w
Iowa St: w
@ Missouri: L
Oklahoma St: L
Texas A&M: L
@ Texas: L
@ Kansas: w
Kansas St: w
@ Colorado: L (hopefully)

and for us,
Colorado St.- w

the rest I don't care

Texas Tech a darkhorse? Don't people say that every year? Fact is, we play well against Tech for some reason. We should have won there the last time we were in Lubbock-this year we get some revenge.

I think that's a fair assesment as well but I disagree with the Wake Forest and Colorado loss, however, I think we'll lose to A&M in all honesty but I hope I'm wrong.

Like I said...I was trying to be as unbias as possible and give a fair assesment to you guys.

I hope I'm wrong too, I hate all Florida teams **Could have something to do with the 90's :). And no matter what bad energy CU and NU fans have between them (or the two teams for that matter) I still cheer you on in ANY game unless it effects NU's standings because no matter how you slice it...a non-conf Big 12 win is great for our division and since ya'll are big12...I root for ya.

I'm really looking forword to watching ya'll play The Suns so I can get a better feel for the team.

GOD IS WEEK 1 HERE YET???!!??

Harrell is the most talented QB Leach has had down there--in the Kingsbury, guy whose name i forget and Sonny Cumbie sequence.

that was a pretty big W for us when we beat Kingsbury at Folsom in 01 or 02, at the time. possibly Okruch's best job as DC. I wasn't that impressed with KK. i thought his delivery was really slow and his deep ball kind of sucked.

Barney had some really bad clock management at the end of the half to nearly squander a scoring op....but i think it was Purify bails us out with a great run after catch.

Harrell is the most talented QB they have had there, but he's still only entering his second year as a starter. We shall see, but I'm not convinced that Tech is going to be any better this year. They seem like they are unable to take the next step.

Harrell is exactly the reason I think Tech is a dark horse. The guy is throwing almost 70% and avg.s 7 yards per catch. His ONLY drawback are his interceptions (11 in 06)...he brings those down and has a decent offensive line...lookout.

i tend to agree. though, go read an aTm board and they are apoplectic they can't beat Tech. Leach is a real thorn in the side of the Aggies.

just to add to the bugeater discussion above, i think NU will some serious payback in mind when OSU comes to town. the Pokes mauled NU last year.

Tech is one of those teams in the south that if they just got their **** together they could be very, very good

God...that game made me sickkkkkkkkkkk

here is a thought: i no more looked at the thread title and the fact that a husker started it to know that i was basically going to blow the post off. i scrolled down to hit "quick reply" but right above that was the word "Thoughts?"

i guess you can feel important for having got an answer, and i can be happy i did not spend any time reading what you had to say!

a win win situation, if you ask me!

Typical Blaise still trolling...

You didn't spend time reading that's for sure...missing the required equipment.

But you SURE had time to reply...so I must be special..GO ME!

Anyways, back to topic...It looks like Sports Illustrated is thinking along the same lines...

North
1. Nebraska 9-3 (6-2)
2. Missouri 9-3 (5-3)
3. Kansas State 7-5 (4-4)
4. Colorado 5-7 (3-5)
5. Kansas 6-6 (2-6)
6. Iowa State 4-8 (1-7)

South
1. Texas 11-1 (7-1)
2. Oklahoma 10-2 (6-2)
3. Oklahoma State 8-4 (5-3)
4. Texas Tech 8-4 (4-4)
5. Texas A&M 8-4 (4-4)
6. Baylor 3-9 (0-8)

I disagree that we will win the north but hey..I'll take what I can get.

So if SI has us going 5-7 (3-5 in the B12) that means they believe we will beat the lammies and either ASU or FSU ooc. This just goes to show that SI is full of ****. If we go 5-7 your scenario is likely how it would happen not with 2 ooc victories.

But all that's moot because we're going 12-0! Watch out mutha****as!!!!

Actually, it probably means that SI has us beating CSU and Miami, OH and losing to FSU and ASU. Then going 3-5 in conference.

Doesn't it?

 so we lose to Miami (Oh)? If they have us 3-5 in the B12, then we are 2-2 out of conf. CSU and Miami (OH) wins; FSU and ASU losses.

but you are 100% correct: SI is Full of ****. Buffs are running the table!!!!

EDIT: Junc and Mick beat me to it. Anyone else want to chime in and tell SJ he is wrong?
