CU Section in Michigan

There are a few hotels downtown that are right near all the night life and good restaurants - The courtyard and The Graduate. Otherwise a few other good options are the Hampton Inn, The Weber Inn. There are others...but those are probably the newest/nicest.

I booked a room at the Hampton south of the stadium about three months ago (not first choice, but took what I could get) and it was $450 a night. It was pretty slim pickings then, so out by the highway and Ypsilanti may be all that's left. Air bnb may be another option.

Just picked up my tickets for the game. Endzone, section 13 row 7. Tried to get in the CU section, but only thing I could find was the top row. Ready for the trip. Go Buffs.

I have a few questions - is the best way to get to Ann Arbor from Detroit via shuttle? It doesn't seem like there's a train or anything, right? I booked a room by the Weber Inn on the west side of town...I assume we'll just Uber to the stadium. Is the area around the Weber Inn any fun, or is all partying/day-drinking/bars/restaurants in downtown Ann Arbor? Thanks in advance for the input, and see you guys in Ann Arbor!

I looked into it, but it appears your options are either a rent-a-shuttle, rent a car, or uber. Not sure about any mass transit options. All of the other 3 options were about the same price so I rented a car, since it gives me the most flexibility.

Not a lot of great transportation options from the Detroit Airport to Ann Arbor – no train, not a lot of buses. Luckily the Detroit airport is only about a 25 minute drive to Ann Arbor (depending on traffic obviously). Its a straight shot down I-94, and very easy. Uber/Lyft/Taxi's are around $40-50, and most convenient. Probably your best option.

If you're staying on the west side of town (i.e. near the Weber Inn), you might want a car to get downtown. Taxis/Ubers are also very easy, and about $10 from there. There are a couple nice places (restaurants, breweries) near the Weber, but it’s not exactly the most walkable area. It’s a 3 mile trip to downtown where there are tons of restaurants/bars/shops, etc. That is where all the action will be the night before the game. Parking can be a bit of a pain in this town, so plan on paying a few bucks to park in a garage when you come downtown.

As far as getting to the game, I believe there is some sort of shuttle from either the Weber hotel or one of the nearby hotels. Might also be a reason to rent a car - so you can partake in tailgating, which is excellent. I prefer to tailgate on the golf course across from the stadium (they'll have you park right on the fairway). It costs around $40 to park there. Many thousands of people tailgating, and they’re usually very nice to opposing team fans (with the exception of Ohio State).

When the game gets closer I can post a few thoughts on good spots to hit for food/beers, etc for everyone visiting. Should be a fun weekend. I’m excited! Go Buffs!

Does anyone know exactly which rows the CU sections are? Daaah said above it was at the top of those sections and the top row is 96 so I'm guessing the CU sections start around row 75 or so.
