For anyone with the time and inclination to watch, 3 Buff alumni, including Olympian Emma Coburn, will be racing tonight at the "Tracktown Summer Series" meet in Eugene OR, with ESPN televising (or streaming via WatchESPN) most of it. Ms. Coburn's race (a 1500M this time rather than her steeple specialty), is scheduled to start at ~9:24 PM MT, while Jessica Tebo is racing in the 4K road race starting 6:15 MT (before ESPN coverage starts), and Shalaya Kipp will be racing in the steeple, scheduled to start at 7:50 MT. (EDIT- see below post for 4th Buff, Renee Metivier in the 4K road race, competing tonight.)

Overall ESPN coverage of the meet starts at 7:30 MT.

A couple notes:
1) For Ms. Coburn, interesting to see if she can set her Personal Record (PR) in the 1500m (currently 4:05.10, set earlier this year), as I assume she's in peak shape with the Olympics coming up. She has the slowest seed time in the race, so if the pace is decent (and there is a rabbit for the race), the whole field may help pace her to a strong new PR. (The one factor may affect her time is that I have no idea how hard she's training right now, so she may have "heavy legs" depending on where she's at in her Olympic training cycle.)

For this meet, there's an article about Ms. Coburn available at http://www.letsrun.com/news/2016/07/emma-coburn-talks-rio-olympics-summer-series-zika/ , which also contains an ~6 minute interview with her. (Unfortunately, the audio goes bad approximately half way through.) There's also a 4 minute interview with her at http://www.flotrack.org/video/98639...ot-stressing-too-much-about-a-medal-right-now .

2) For Ms. Kipp, she evidently hit a steeple barrier HARD less than a week ago in a race in London (see below tweet), so it will be interesting to see how she bounces back. She was able to gut it out and finish that race with a decent time (9:34.12) and finish (5th), so hopefully she'll be able to give a solid performance, although I'm sure with some soreness, this evening.

Schedule- http://gotracktownusa.com/wp-conten...T-competition-schedule-2016-07-21-at-1400.pdf (With this I assume being somewhat a "made for ESPN " event, assume the schedule may be a little fluid to best accommodate what ESPN wants when.)

List of Team rosters/ athletes (This is organized as a 4 team competition, with Ms.'s Coburn and Tebo on "Team New York", while Ms. Kipp is on "Team Philadelphia, based on a draft held a few weeks ago.)- http://gotracktownusa.com/events/ttss-rosters/

Shoot- just noticed that I missed there's another great Buff alum, Renee Metivier , who is competing tonight. She's on Team Philadelphia, and will be racing with Ms. Tebo in the 4K road race.

Jessica Two gets a comfortable ~18 second win in the 4 mile (per live results).

Was out and about so didn't get to see the meet.

Looks like Emma Coburn ended up 5th in a CLOSE finish in the 1500M (only ~.6 seconds behind the winner) in what she tweeted was a tactical (AKA sit and kick) race.

Also, I missed that a FIFTH Buff was competing, as Joe Morris earned a 3rd place finish in the 100M representing Team Portland.

Saw both Joe's and Emma's races. Definitely looked like Emma may be in the mode of being leg tired from training for the Olympics, I imagine her wind down to the race is coming soon, but she really struggled with turn over at the end of the race. That being said, you could tell prior to that she was just sitting back and waiting. Joe on the other hand had to wait out two false starts and two run under protests to get his 3rd. Tough way to race.
