Missed FG's

I can't help but to think that if we'd made those two FG's, the game would have turned out differently. I know you can't assume that we would have scored the TD that we did, kicked an extra point to pull to 16-13 and then had an opportunity to score at the end like we did. Maybe if we'd hit the FG's things would have played out differently at the end and, therefore, it isn't fair to make the comparison. But those missed FG's were HUGE, IMO.

Another thing. How will those two missed FG's effect future decisions by Hawkins? Will he be more apt to go for it on 4th down where he, otherwise, would kick the FG?

i don't have the stats in front of me, but i'm guessing our success on 4th downs thus far is slightly better than our FG%........:wow:

Think we were a little spoiled with Crosby?:sad1:

Not that often you have a NFL caliber place-kicker on the team.

Eberhart will be ok. He hasnt kicked in a meaningful game in 5 years. Its mental and I am hopeful he puts FSU behind him. We will need his leg again this fall to win a game or 2.

We were a LOT spoiled with Crosby. Eberhart will settle down & he'll make more than he misses, ultimately, but we definitely miss a nearly-automatic 3 points inside 50 yards.

Crosby was such a nice weapon to have...but just remember that we did miss a short field goal attempt (blocked) in Georgia that ended up being a critical mishap so nothing is automatic.

Eberhart will come through...

I agree, you could feel the emotion leave the stadium after the second miss. Momentum was definitely affected.

i STILL think that aldrich's FG against the fuskers in 1999 was good.

me also..... I have broken down that game..... that play, I have actually counted the revolutions of the ball before it is on the right side of the goal post...

there is no way he missed that....

nuts and bolts, nuts and bolts

it's so hard seeing if a FG is good from where I sit-
did he miss both FG's badly or were they just wide ?
