Now that you have seen four games, you should have an idea of where this team is headed. How do you see the buffs in confrence play?

Me personally, I like where e are headed. I think the only game where it would be shocking if we won is Oklahoma. Every other game I think we stand a great chance at winning.
I think with some execution we could be 3-1 or even 4-0. The two losses we really shot ourselves in the foot, and I think things will only get better with experience. This is a young team and I am impressed with the strides they are making. They have looked better in each game IMO.

Here's how I see the rest of the season after what I have seen so far.

Oklahoma: L I think it will be closer than most think though
@ Baylor: W Buffs will end two game losing streak to bears
@ Kansas st: L But more like a toss up
Kansas: W Chickenshits haven't played anyone
@ Texas Tech: L they get payback from last year
Missouri:W Tigs Don't have a defense and we win with home field
@ Iowa St: W we don't lose this time in Ames
Nebraska: W Fuskers are waaaaaaay overratted

That makes us 7-5 and headed to a bowl, setting up where Colorado really starts to make noise in teh 2008 season.

I sure liked what happened yesterday.
I see it as a balm that soothed many ills.

I'm still a bit cautious because I think next weeks game will have a bearing on the pace for conference play.

I see us dropping the same three you do with a possibility of falling to misery. If we can stay competitive in all games (and I think we will) and keep that offense clicking we get to a bowl even with six wins.

Offense clicking is a key, because while defense wins titles, a big offensive show is fun to watch. JMHO

I was getting all kinds of **** for talking about Nebraska and then I post this and no more replies? What do people see of this team after the OOc?

With the exception of the OU game, none of the teams remaining have DL that could really dominate us.. I think we'll have a chance to win all the games.. 5-3 conference record would be a great season for Hawk and company even in a downtrodden Big 12 conference..

i was not giving you any ****. as always, my prognostication: buffs run the table. :smile2:

To amend my previous post a bit: after their performance against "not OK State" which incidently cost me eight points in "College Pickem" we may have a better chance against Tech than a person might think. Their Run D from all appearances more closely resembles a sieve than a defense and though we are 0-4 in Lubbock we always give them a game. This could be the year we go one up one them. I can't imagine every team in the big 12 not thinking; BALL CONTROL RUNNING GAME, when they play the Raiders this year

I am curious as to why you think we will loose to K. St they played auburn tough which looked good until we found out Auburn sucks. Since then they have beaten a team that got shut out by stanford, and beat mizzery st. which might be an NAIA school

I'd say OU is the only team on the schedule that jumps out as a "no hoper" - although I still have hope. All the rest of the games are winable. The team is improving every week and is showing some signs that they could be pretty darn good by the end of the year.

I think I predicted 7-5 at the beginning of the year and I'll stick with that.

Missou and Kansas are gonna beat the piss out of you. They will kill us too so don't feel bad.

Here is what I see:

OU- Very tough game for the Buffs. OU has ripped everybody they have played. My heart says Bufs, but my head says Sooners.

Baylor- CU should win this game, even though it is on the road.

KSU- I am not impressed with KSU. CU should win this one on the road as well.

KU- CU going away.

TT- Difficult only because TT can play to a CU weakness...pass defense. If CU can run the ball, they could win this one.

MU- Another team that matches up against CU very well offensively. Whether MU's D can stop anyone remanis to be seen. This could go either way.

ISU- Buff win.

NU- Hard to tell right now. The Corn are miserable on D. The only team they stopped was Nevada. Keller has an arm, and the offense can move the ball, but this is another that could go either way.

I see 8-4 with the Buffs beating Baylor, KU, KSU, ISU and TT. Throw in an upset of either MU or NU and a nice bowl game come December.

WHAT is it that you have seen that gives you this impression?

Missou is looking good coming into the AP Poll ranked #20. They are just playing ball right now and their defense looks great. They'll beat both of us easily.

Kansas has beat the piss out of their opponets in their first 4 games by no less than 32 points and thats only because they got 6 points in the 4th because KU had their 3rd tier in. They beat opponets 52-7, 62-0, 45-13, 55-3. Reesing is good.

Take a good look at the names next to those KU scores...Central Michigan, Southeast Louisiana, Toledo, and Florida International. Wake me up when they beat someone who I've heard of.

I would say that Mangino is risking ruining his appetite with all those cupcakes, but who are we kidding?

We almost got beat by Ball State and ya'll struggled with CSU...a game you should have lost.

I predicted 6-6 before the season and I see no reason to change that now. I'm happy we finally beat a team soundly that we were supposed to beat soundly. But until the rush offense gains any type of consistency from game to game, I see this team struggling some more as the season goes along.

A- why should we have lost? its not like there were glaring bad calls or we didnt come from 11 down to win.

B- you need to look at who Kansas has played it reads like a roll call of the worst teams in college football, CSU and Ball st would be undefeated as well against those teams.

i don't know what to make of our Buffs' chances in the b12 this year.

and i don't know that the ou game is going to tell us much. the north looks weak but is our young team ready to capitalize on that? can they win on the road? can this staff scheme an effective running attack in the bitter cold in november?

we will see.

upset the sooners and then all bets are off!

GO BUFFS!

Well ya'll think what you want...at least you guys have reason to hope...you owned your cup cake on Saturday. Our cup cake decided it wanted to be a wedding cake.

whatever. My point is that KU does this every year. They punk no-name schools for their OOC games, and then they get manhandled in conference play.

I think the only game where it would be shocking if we won is Oklahoma. Every other game I think we stand a great chance at winning.

I thought we'd go 7-5 before the season with 2 of those wins coming in non-conference. My thoughts for the conference season are the same as what I originally thought, which is:

OU - Loss
Baylor, KU, ISU - Wins
Mizzour, KSU, corn, TT - Swing games

I figured of those 4 swing games that CU will win 2 of those, which would put us at 5-3 in the Big 12.

exactly... CU would have whipped up on that schedule too and be 4-0..

Kansas was lucky to beat us last year and I wasn't that impressed with Missouri either.. Dill Pickle is a moron..

One thing we do need to do is beat BAYLOR.. I can't believe we have a 2 game losing streak against those clowns.. Embarassing... We probably should all wait unitl we win that game first, then start talking about how well we are going to do in the Big 12..

I like where Hawk and company are taking us but we need to get a road win to show that we are becoming a quality program and moving forward. I think our last road win was KjSU in 2005.. Way too long..
