Congrats Buff fans, great victory. I didnt get to see the game, or any games for that matter. Looks like it was a hell of a win, and a great day overall for the North.

Thanks lammie.

Sorry about the lammies :sad1:

Tis a sad state of affairs in the Fort. I had excellent seats to the Avs game last night, was a pretty good game for a preseason. Plus I didnt have to be pained with another CSU L. SDSU next week at home, thats winnable, I think

CSU gets their first win next week

I think CSU will beat SDSU next week. Losing the big tight end really hurt them I think.

And CSUH, I think that you might want to set your DVR to catch the CU-OU game if it comes on again. Great game, great plays by CU, and a great comeback for CU. These kids are picking up steam as the young ones get more and more experience.

Sonny is close to retirement age. There are a lot of good young HCs around the country. I liked the guy and he did a lot of first. He seems to be sliping a la Joe Pa. Whatever anyone says he made CSU much better and he made the series with us much more interesting.

Dont get me wrong, what Sonny did at CSU has been awesome. But I do think we are getting close to time for him to retire and hopefully get a new, young staff with alot of energy to rekindle some of the excitement up there.

I live in the Fort and see Sonny on almost a daily basis at a local health club. The guy is a rock. You just gotta love the guy when you see him. He has done a ton for the program and the university.

It will be tough to get a young staff to come in and STAY. They don't have the big bucks to throw at a good young coach, the program does not have the big conference appeal. Sonny seemed OK with all this at the stage of his career that he was. A better strategy for the Rams might be to get an older good coach with energy.

Just my 2 cents worth...

Look at Boise State though. They have had a string of coaches. If your in that situation you have to have a good AD who always has a list in his pocket.

I agree. I guess you can go with a revolving door (list) of young coaches too...

..the main point is you're not going to get a good young coach and staff (urban meyer) to set up camp for the long haul in the MWC... its a stepping stone to the big boys.

You guys are exactly right. If CSU gets a good young coach, he will use it as a stepping stone to a better gig. Thats just the way it is, but its not necessarily bad. At this point I just think the program needs some new blood. The losing streak has really taken a toll on the team and I think its a case of they dont know how to win right now.

I agree my man... they need a changing of the guard... and again, I like Sonny

Absolutely outstanding win guys and gals! It was definately a great weekend for the North. Maybe some people will start shutting their ****ing traps about how dominant the South is. I predicted earlier in the week you guys would win 21-24 with a last second field goal to win the game. A little off on the score, but the win still was right. We have ourselves a race in the North.

I bet you guys could get Joe Glenn away from Wyoming. His DC Mike Breske is pretty good and pretty young.

So replace old with oldish? I think CSU has to look at someone young and hungry. I'd be surprised if Glenn coached anywhere else but in Laramie. He's 58 and seemingly very happy at WYO

I know you guys hate Huskerpedia but they are sending some love your way.

Uh....some love? In typical Husker fashion they are being condescending and saying how CU and KSU are teams that the "big dogs" overlook where as NU is a team that everyone gets up for and NU gets their best shot. Talk about an inflated opinion of ones self. NU is in the exact same class as CU and KSU in the overall college football landscape.

No kidding. This quote was amazing:

"KSU and CU can afford to play like they have nothing to lose...we don't have that luxury..."

Gotta admit, there are a lot of Husker fans with that attitude.

And CU's defense is a hell of a lot better than NU's.

True, but NU's offense is better than CUs. Right now I gotta rate CU a bit ahead of NU, with their win this weekend. But there is a lot of football to be played before this one gets hashed out on the field.

I guess I focused on the positive comments regarding CU and KSU's wins and how it made the north look better. You obviously focused on just the negative comments.

Even the "positive" comments were back handed though.

Sure there was some, but the ones I copied below seemed sincere enough.

Bottom line is I think most Huskers were pulling for you guys. Its time we get the North back on its feet and having some better competition between ourselves and against the south teams. The last few years (actually for the most part since the Big 12's inception) has not been what either of us expects out of our teams. Not trying to flame I just think we need to get both teams back to a position where playing each other is for more than the norths bragging rights.

Wondering where you've been RufBuff ... congratulations on your win over OU.

Mighty impressive victory! Good for you and good for the B12North!

Was about to put out an APB on you. Nice work Saturday, as much as I hate to admit it, your team pulled out a great W and showed perseverance Saturday. Congrats.

Congrats to you RuffBuff. I watched the whole game, and your boys look solid. It looks like Hawkins was a good hire for CU.

Ruff Buff congratulations to your boys on a BIG win. Don't try it on the Huskers. If they do I won't be your friend anymore

I'd say the two teams are not far from each other at this point, which is what makes the 'CU has nothing to lose and we do' comments even funnier.
