I can't say enough about how classy the Sooner fans were. The ones around me, and there were many, cheered their team on but were not obnoxious or in your face. They had fun with us CU fans in some light and fun jabs back and forth before the game and went out of their way to congratulate us after the game.

Not all Husker fans are bad but from my experiences I give the nod to the OU fans for class.

And...GREAT GAME BUFFS! The crowd was load and proud today even when we were down. The team never gave up and earned this game on O, D and ST's.

There could be many game balls for the win today but mine goes to the O-LINE. Good protection for Cody and opened some holes in the second half. GREAT JOB!!!!

Go BUFFS, Beat the Bears!!!

You mean they're not f'n hillbillys? Could Callahan be full of ****?

The O line did a great job. Add numerous third and fourth down conversions, the D didn't have to carry the team for most of the game for once.

before the game i had an ou fan ask me when the next time cu would beat a south opponent. after the game i told him it would be sept. 29th 2007.

OU fans were very cool. I actually bought a couple of them a coors lights at the pit after the game, the only weak **** I saw was a kid (like 12 years old) spit on a CU fan with his grandpa (probably his dad) watching on and flicking us off. All good, WOOOOO!

Last year at the Big XII game I met a few that were good people, but they also had their share of assholes as does every fan base. Great win!!!

I've never had any issues with Sooner fans. ALL CLASS. Sure they have their asshole fans. We do too. But OU fans were great. Way more classy then Fusker fans.

The thing I like about Sooner fans is that they show class but aren't under the impression that they're the worlds classiest fans. Even if they are, they figure they have better things to hang their collective hats on then their "classiness".

See everyone loves a Sooner Fan. Since we are showing some love here just to say thanks for not throwing the batteries.

Be careful CU fans. If you wear a BUFF shirt in Oklahoma, you might get your scrotum pulled and ripped.

Sooner_Fan - drop the battery talk already, buddy.

You know what. yea. MOstly, as a group . The OU fans were awesome. Or at least definitally respectable. I give them props... I was at the nebraska, and iowa state game last year... Nebraska.. UG.. there were at least five Nebraska fans, THat I SAW, spit on cu fans as they walked in and out...That was on the CU side.. Granted... cu fans are a rowdy bunch.. Also last year i saw the whole students section ejected.. lol. But Yea Ou had Class.

last year? the ENTIRE student section?

what were you taking, and how long have they kept you in that funky white jacket?

Will OU ever outgrow the upsidown rival logo fettish?

i started a post about this very topic on ouinsider.com. we went on and on with the majority of OU fans agreeing that it's a very tired practice, me included. my argument was that it makes you look like texas haters and not OU fans. the really upsetting thing is when they do it when we're playing utah state or some **** like that. those are the fans that give us a bad name and usually they have not ever attended the university, let alone graduate.

Spy - Good to know. That's exactly how I see it.

The OU axe grind on UT appears kind of like a petty little minor-league version of Arab fanaticals who aren't so much pro-Arab as anti-Jew. This upsidedown logo fettish is not healthy for a proud program with such great tradition. Its good to hear that this is falling out of favor with the majority of OU fans.

IMO, messing with someone's vehicle magnets, flag, handsignal, or school logo, is more likely to be taken as hostile act than some good-natured and acceptable gameday behavior. (Although it's better than being spit upon)

As a CU fan, I just have to shake my head at the upside hook 'em handsignal flashed in Norman when CU comes to town. It's twisted logic to equate a buffalo with a longhorn because both mascots have horns.

If you don't respect your opponent, you might get beaten. In your opinion, did OU and UT get so wrapped up in the RRS that they may have overlooked "inferior" Northern opponents? Was that even a factor, or just an excuse?

trust me. you're preaching to the choir here. OU and texas aren't the only fans to do this. it's kinda like how you guys call nebraska the fuskers and what not. i mean there is some of that cu "axe grind" on nebraska, right? but i agree the anti-texas stuff has gotten out of hand for some OU fans.

But that's *ebraska. That's not an axe grind, that's just good common sense...:lol:

I'd point out that CU fans don't reserve a special hand signal for Kneebraska. Besides, turning that kNowledge logo upside down doesn't really work, does it? It is true that the Nubs are the traditional rival for the Buffs, so you might have something here. I bet OU has some choice words for nU as well. That we have in common.

The CU handsignal is universal and used fairly indiscriminately.:smile2::finger::smile2:

This trash talk on the boards is all "sticks and stones." We aspire to give as good as we get. No one ever said a football rivalry should emulate a church peace offering.

But we don't scream "fuskers suck!" during our game with Kansas. While it's true that we do hate the fuskers 365 days a year, and 366 on leap years, we do manage to turn our attention to the opponent at hand at the appropriate time.

I stayed in the same motel with alot of OU fans last Jan at the Fiesta Bowl; we were in BSU garb and cars were decked out; no problems even after OU lost. Good folks. I did get the bird and beer showers as did my children by UT fans at B12 champoinship in 2001 Texas stadium. CU fans were giving the finger as well and the "F*ck "em Up" chant. After the game and UT defeat - no issues.

ya it irks me that OU fans buy Horn decals and turn them upside down on their cars and stuff... me, I wouldnt buy the stuff as part of the money goes back to UT. Also I dont get OU fans giving the "horns down" at other games other than games against UT. In saying that.... the UT fans in their fight song, no matter who they are playing say "OU Sucks"....

It looks bad, but neither of you are nearly as bad as Aggy. The inferiority complex they carry throughout their life is ridiculous. Half the freaking War Hymn is about Texas.

Just like CSmoo's song is about CU. Stupid land-grant schools.
