Do we want ASU to upset the UTEs or not?

I don't care. We control our own destiny, so it doesn't matter to me.

Plus, rooting for one team or the other means rooting for a dickheaded mouthbreather of a coach, and I can't do it either way.

Meteor?

Yes ... I know there is this .043791 chance that we play for the national championship, but I would much rather we play the Rose Bowl and kick butt than magically play for the national championship against the semi-pro Alabammers.
But I'd be cool with the Huskies going in our place to the NC.
First I just wanted to have a winning season, then I wanted a bowl game, now I want to win it, too. I don't want to be greedy, so I'll stop there.
Greed is good

I don't really see how ASU can keep it close against Utah, ASU is a dumpster fire.

ASUs season is on the line. They're playing at home, where they are tough. It wouldn't completely shock me to see ASU win this game.

Couldn't the same be said about Oregon State?
I think that was a little different. Oregon state is a lot more physical than ASU and they played in horrible conditions that made the game closer that it really was. ASU has been terrible ever since we played them.

bunch a wimps in this thread. I want Utah ranked as high as they can be when they come to Boulder. Same with WSU. Big time relevant college football games at the end of November..... ****ING BRING IT ON!!!!!!

What makes you think we'd kick butt in the Rose yet have no chance against Alabama? Beating Ohio State is almost as difficult as beating Alabama.

Why is rooting for an outcome to propel your team to a conference championship wimpy? Those teams losing helps the Buffs. Why would anybody not want any edge that can help our team?

Or put it this way, if those teams were ahead of Colorado in the standings wouldn't everybody be rooting for them to lose to help Colorado? So what is the difference?

Just want the biggest stage possible. Games are always a hell of a lot more fun, and gets more national attention, when something big is on the line. Especially in late November. We have the potential for 2 games in a row in Boulder with big conference title implications. Why the hell wouldn't we want that?

I am glad you are not the coach of CU

I poked around on that 538 calculator a bit. It doesn't seem to really matter what happens across conference play as long as:
1) UW wins out the regular season
2) CU wins out and beats UW

All the other wins and losses neutralize each other as (mostly speaking) all the teams play each other.

Knowing that - screw Utah - find a way to lose to ASU and I am now officially rooting for UW to knock off USC.

The games will be huge regardless. WSU is going to have division title implications no matter what.

Why wouldn't we want Colorado to win the division as soon as possible? Ask yourself that question.

Because the CCG and the Rose Bowl are both bigger stages than WSU and Utah. I want the best chance of being in the two bigger games and having USC and Utah lose helps us get there.

Agree to disagree

#I'mWithScotch

Two regular season games with everything at stake would just make the CCG and the Rose Bowl that much sweeter. Half of the glory of games like that is in how you got there.

I want U$C and UU to both lose so that IF we don't beat UW in the CCG, we don't get screwed by them being ranked higher than us and not making the Rose Bowl.

Before the season, I was hoping for 6-6 and ANY bowl. Belk, Pinstripe, whatever. The fact that we're 7-2, ranked in the mid teens in all polls, and rationally talking about PAC-12 championships blows my mind! I say go for the gusto and have the game against the Utes be for all the marbles. Folsom would be rocking like it hasn't since 62-36. So **** ASU, **** BAILER, **** UCLA, and what the heck **** Nubraska!

1. Is the thought if ASU beats Utah, when we play Utah it might not matter if we win or lose against them and we would still go to pac-12 championship game? Essentially backing into CCG?

2. What the original poster asked, do we want ASU to win? I say no. I guess I'd rather see CU beat the strongest teams possible so I'd rather have Utah beat asu. If ASU beats Utah and we beat Utah it wouldn't be as strong a victory had Utah won.

3. All in all just glad to see CU kicking butt.

Sinkratz put it much more succinctly than me...and completely destroyed your argument.

Sure dude. For the record I'll take either scenario, just want to see all teams win until they play the Buffs. IMO its better for the Buffs and the coference as a whole.

Hallelujah pass the eggnog!

I hope we win out. If we are in the championship game through another's actions, some will deminish the accomplishment.
