Okay, same deal as earlier but the other side of the ball.

DL (9 of 10 on the current depth chart returning. Loss- Barrett)
DE M. Lucas SR
DE M. Herrod Soph
DE C Obi (RS-FR/Soph TBD)
DE D. Hudgins JR (I'm pretty sure he was granted a RS year this year)
DE/DT C. Perri JR
DE/DT E. Goree RS FR
DE/DT L. Shields RS FR
DT G. Hypolite SR
DT B. Nicolas SR
DT E. Lawson Soph
DT J. Brace JR
DT T. Kaynor JR

A couple of DTs (already have one verbal in Columbine DT Curtis Cunnigham) would be great, seems like I've said that before. I'm not so sure a DE is a must in this recruiting class. One thing that I have to say about Hawkins and staff is how well they have re-stocked the OL and DL in their short time here. Both lines were a complete mess when he got here, the numbers were thin, tons of attrition and the spacing was awful. The cupboard appears to pretty well stocked now.

LB (Everyone but Dizon is back)
LB J. Smart JR
LB RJ Brown SR
LB J. Duren JR
LB B. Jones SR
LB B. Stengel JR
LB N. Vaiomounga Soph
LB BJ Beatty Soph
LB M. Burton JR(Assuming he comes back from academic issues)
LB Micheal Sipili Soph
LB T. Ahles RS FR
LB J. Hartigan

While the numbers appear to be here, the talent is not quite up to CU standards if Sipili and Burton are not on the 2008 squad. The addition of at least three LBs is a must, and it appears the Buffs have two of those in recent verbal commit Will Pericak and Josh Berard. Landing the top player in the state of CO would be huge here. Come on down Mr. Major and be a buff!!!

DB (8 of 10 return from current depth chart. Losses- Wheatley and Harris)
CB G. McKay SR
CB J. Smith Soph
CB B. Burney SR
CB C. Brown JR
CB J. Hawkins Soph
CB L. Brown RS FR
CB/S A. Perkins Soph
CB/S J. Brown Soph
CB/S A. Wright RS FR
S D. Dykes SR
S R. Walters SR

So far the Buffs have two safety prospects that have verbaled, but another top flight CB would not hurt the 2008 class. There is actually a lot of talent among the secondary. They are just really, really young minus the seniors.

I suspect that the Buffs will sign 17-20 kids in this class. Hopefully Gates is still in the mix and can be a spring enrollee and count towards last year.

So Buff fans, the future is pretty bright and the talent on the roster is good. Another solid recruiting class, another year in this system and we are going to have a team that's not just talked about after an epic upset victory, but in the same breath as the top B12 schools as well as the top teams in the country each and every week.

The offense will be fun to watch as well.

3 o-line starters return maybe 4 by end of season
14 return 10 comeback as redshirt freshmen

If Faatagi gets eligible and Tau gets going the line will be monstrous

lots of potential at rb

lots of youngsters at WR & TEs

This will be an exciting team the rest of this season and next

I just hope the staff can keep getting some big nasty linemen for both sides of the ball

Agreed. I broke the O down yesterday as well

Looking Forward 2008- Offense

It also looks like Pericak is going to be a TE, not a LB at this point. That makes landing Major much more important

Definetly need to keep adding size to the roster. That was the most glaring thing on Saturday was the lack of size. Okie was just so much bigger. It sounds like that was addressed pretty well on the o-Line in the last recruiting class. Hopefully it was on the D-line as well. The next couple of recruiting classes will be critical.

But I agree HF. Their not too far away from becoming a top team in the Big 12. I don't know if CU can get the kind of depth that OU or UT has, but they can definetly get some sick talent in the 2 deep. Gotta beat Baylor and keep the momentum rolling.

Major is a Buff, Pericak looks to be a TE recruit. The Buffs are after a current NU commit at LB as well (4 star JUCO kid)

The Buffs got another verbal from a Texas HS Athlete that looks like he'll either be a safety or CB Stephan Hicks
