I can't wait until we kick Baylor's ass.

Their fans were the absolute worst last year out of anyone I encountered. They have a major little man complex, and are talking on their forums how the "own us". They have a major little man's complex. I can't wait till we put 50 on the board and absolutely destroy them.

Baylor has forums?

Having gone to the last 2 Baylor games, I hate to say it, but BU does own us. The only team in the B12 that Baylor has beaten two times in a row is CU. This fact won't change on Saturday.

CU has to be able to win on the road. It's been a while sense this last happened. CU can not overlook Baylor. This has trap game written all over it.

A solid win would go a long way towards getting this bitter taste out of our mouths. But after watching OU fans blather on about hanging 'half a hun' on CU last week, you will not see me wishing for the same thing OU cheered for, lest we suffer the same fate.

On offense I wish for >180 yards rushing and >250 yards passing with no interceptions, bad snaps or fumbles. I wish that every trip to the red zone turns into a trip to the end zone. I wish for a >65 % conversion on 3rd down and <35 penalty yards.

On defense, I hope for 3 and out. No rushes of greater than 8 yards. Lots of pressure on QB Blake Szymanski, with <40% of passing attempts completed.

On special teams, no missed PATs or FGs, and all kickoffs/punts inside the 25.

And in the 4th quarter, CU finishes with the same intensity and focus they show on the opening drive.

Hmm, sounds like a half-a-hun to me

Who was the Baylor ****head that was posting here before and after last year's game?

Yogi Bear was his name I believe. Ive been waiting to see if he comes back.

That's right, I forgot about that fool.

I think this game could easily be a "trap game" too. Not for cockiness on the Buffs part but maybe emotional exhaustion. The players were out of this world when they went out on to the field last week and I think that is where the let down could come.

The good news? I think Hawkins is a extremely talented motivator and he won't let them have too much of a lapse or let down. I think we win, I think the defense dominates again (interesting test for the passing D though), I think the Bears view this as a big chance for them, I don't think we score as many points as some think we will.

They still think we really suck. On their forum (the one that I could find) they all want to fire their coach cause he sucks, but they still think that they are going to smash us. They must not get fox sports down there.

Usually I don't care if CU wins by 1 or 35, but this week is different. The Buffs need to win big against Baylor. I'd take a close score if CU statistically dominates the Bears--sort of like the OU game.

This team isn't that far removed from 2-10. To have a great season and a chance to play in the CCG their trajectory must be ever upward.

Saturday's game looks to be the easiest left on the schedule. Next week in Manhattan will be a bruiser--perhaps the toughest of the year. I don't want to go to KSU with a ****ty effort against BU in our pocket.

All that is a long way of saying: I'm looking for an old-fashioned ass-kicking in Waco.

We are so far removed from that team last year! We have a competant quarterback who knows how to win. We have recievers who are catching the ball, even in key situations. We have a defense that swarms the ball. Last but not least, we have punt and kick returners who are making 40 yard runs routinely (not fumbling the damn ball half the time.) But I agree, lets kick their ass on saturday!

Baylor Fans.com actually has a thread suggesting they hire Mike Riley, although why he would leave Ore. St. for Baylor escapes me. They have another thread discussing whether they will hire a big time name coach. For the record, I think CU was darn lucky to land Hawk but what in the world makes Baylor fan think they can reel in a name coach or lure a Pac 10 guy to Waco?

They might get Mike Price. He's paid his pennance at UTEP and might jump at the chance to get back into a BCS conference. Although why they would want to fire Guy Morriss is beyond me. He's done more for that program than anybody since Grant Teaff.

I agree, I don't see the wisdom in dumping Morriss. IMO he's a pretty good coach.

There is one reason someone would go to Baylor - money. That and the chance to build a program that has been a doormat. I never get the feeling that the tradition in Wacko is the same as that in Collie station or Austin. But a chance to coach in the B12 may appeal to someone (it did for Hawk)

with kudos to bw...

CU IS GOING EFFING KILL BAYLOR!

seriously...

CU is going to impose its will against these guys and it won't even be close... look for 45-10 or thereabouts.

I hope you're not comparing CU to Baylor :pissed:

I saw those threads. Funny stuff.

Baylor almost had Tommy Bowden from Clemson before Morriss left UK.. From what I remember the buyout package from Clemson was the only reason why Bowden is still at Clemson and not at Baylor..

I think Morriss is a good coach but I don't understand why he's running a spread offense.. Just doesn't really fit into what his personality is.. Seems almost like a desperate move by him to go to this offense..

Running the ball with a conservative offense and good defense can still win a lot of games for you in the Big 12.. I actually thought Morriss was going to turn it around at Baylor but it seems like he's going to be out of there..

Not sure where they go for a coach.. Probably a Big 12 assistant or some small school coach.. I think Singletary will wait for a NFL job than go back to his school.

This game makes me nervous. I'm still waiting for CU to get into that winning mode where they take care of games like this. It seems like its been a long time.

I'm pretty sure Morriss is from the Hal Mumme coaching tree. Morriss ran the spread at UK with Jared Lorenzen. If there is anything those Hal Mumme disciples want to do, it's throw the friggin' ball.

So the 42-0 slapping of MofO wasn't "taking care of games like this"?

It was a huge step, but obviously conference games are bigger, especially on the road (still looking for that first road win under Hawkins). The momentum we have built with two straight impressive victories would evaporate with a loss to Baylor.
