Herbstreet picks Baylor

How many big games do we have to win to get respect?

All of them.

Hey, Kirk is probably going off of a couple things here. First, CU is coming off of a very emotional win and is in a prime spot for a letdown. Second, Hawkins hasn't won a road game yet. Third, Baylor seems to have CU's number lately for whatever reason. Lastly, CU's win last week will now place a target on their back. Baylor is going to come out firing in this game.

So Herbie picked Baylor. He's an idot. What do you want me to say?

I'm not too surprised. We're coming off a 2-10 season and we haven't won on the road in a quite a while. Plus we have had some troubles with Baylor recently. The respect will come with more wins. Let's hope the team takes another step forward today and continues to improve.

The naysayers point out that CU could be 1-4 based on 2 bad snaps. Both CSU and OU would have turned out differently on game deciding FGs. Plus a Hawkins coached CU road team has never won a game.

Respect = pwning the opponent and establishing a winning streak of more than 2.

The quest continues in Waco. Go BUFFS!

good points fellas

They did acknowledge the great story of Cody Hawkins

Nice. Just look at this way Unleash-if we win this week and find a way to win next week in Manhattan, a game that will be on ESPN2 (a game Herbstreit might actually be an announcer for), it will be hard for them to ignore us.

Gah. That argument is ridiculous. CSU has proven over the last four weeks that the only game that matters to them is the CU game. Lose that, and their season is cooked. They come at CU with everything they have every year. This year was no different, and they lost. Plain and simple.

For CSU's sake, they really should move this game to later in the year. It's got to be hard to have your season shattered before it even gets off the ground.

kirk is just trying to go 2 fer 2, is all.

last week, kirk popped off "who cares?" in reference to the colorado oklahoma matchup when asked for his opinion. i guess he had other things to talk about. :smile2: too bad for kirk, the game was among the nations top stories, which made his earlier pettishness look rather humorous.

i think kirk is trying to supplant musburger for "most idiotic sports personality," given that his string of ridiculous moments this year included what sounded like a hangover while he was on the phone with the thursday night crew during the tulsa/okie game.

go on kirk, with yo bad self!

Don't you mean "idotic".

And I'm now a big Musberger fan after his "tree hugger" rant in Berkley. That was classic. If you missed it, it's probably out there somewhere on utube. Great stuff.

The tree hugger ting was great - makes the burned out hips in Boulder look lazy and uninvolved - if thats possible.

Kirk - you are wrong - the hair gel is interfering with your brain function

i dont take these guys too seriously at all. first of all, i think they are out there for the most part to have fun and provide an entertaining show to college football fans. IMO, they do that.

second, over the years, they have picked CU and given props to the program just as much as they have taken shots at the program. during the "scandal" i remember both Lee and Kirk defending GB. every team gets thier shots and props over the years. no big deal. its all fun but not as much fun when the team you root for does not get the credit you want them to or think they deserve. meh.

i still enjoy the hell out of the show and if i ever get furloughed/lose my job again, i will go in under the cover of darkness and take herbies spot on the show.

Ya'll worry too much about respect from ESPN, that is a Bugeater whine. Let's just win some games, get to a bowl, and start boosting our talent back to where it was in the 90's. When that happens, we will all have our pride restored and the national respect we had. Nebraska people want national respect for beating Ball State by one.

Herbgeek is a worthless POS (that's Piece of ****), yet another in the long line of talking heads that is utterly clueless. He is to be ignored. :gobuffs:

I don't take any of these gusy seriously either.....they don't think much of you if your not part of the ACC, SEC, and Pac 10....'cept for Herbie and his Ohio State/Big Ten love fest. They are just a pre-game show and like the pro football ones they can be entertaining b/c nothing else is going on at 9 in the morning.

he's a delusional dip**** that can't get over his and every nebraska fan's CU loathing...

and as mentioned above, who the hell cares what he thinks. He's almost as irelevant as corso, beano and holtz...

Thats a good point. No one probably remembers but think Craig James was better at the job in my humble opinion. Then again, analysts help them write this stuff becuase there is no way they can keep track of all that information. If the analysts suck then they are going to blow some upset prediction.

Our win last week probably came down more to our strength and condition coach than anything else. You can't break that kind of **** down.
