LOL..

Okay, I'll admit I did cuss a few times at Collins when I was following the game on ESPN Gamecast..

Other than the yards, I guess the only negative would be that they didn't seem to have a sack today.. Its hard to get a gauge of what Baylor does on the spread offense, so I can't say for sure we didn't play good on defense.. We were good enough to get the big lead on them and Baylor padded their stats..

Good win today... Now, onto KjSU..

i want to see how hawk responds. is he the daddy? or is his friendship stronger than much-needed criticism?

i am going to bet we see this fixed.

I expect some fixing, and also expect that it had something to do with playing Baylor and getting up on them.

Unfortunately, I do expect some teams to look at this film and try to replicate what was working against us so it MUST be fixed regardless.

it should also be noted that many of those yards were against our second and third string players. we had a few guys go out to injury and t-wheat had the flu. not necessarily an excuse, but i'm not worried about all the yards.

I got back from the game last night, and took a look at the stats this morning. Frankly, I was shocked to see that BU had 400 yards passing, because it sure didn't seem that way watching the game. But then I realized that BU amassed 200 yards of offense in the 4th quarter when we were playing soft. I remember telling my buddy that I hate giving up points in mop up time.

So, don't panic too much abut our passing defense, they did a pretty good job when it counted. Oh, and the two pass interference calls I thought were very borderline. Our backs had the denfenders well covered, and I thought the minor contact was incidental.

i was hypersensitive to each if those yards.

granted, they have a gem in #4. STILL, we were able to put in a great special teams effort ONCE (maybe twice) when punting or kicking off the ball. every other time, they had an insane amount of special teams yards.

we need to have depth. our second and third in line have to be ready to be a difference maker, and not fall under the umbrella of excuses.

we will not have our starters forever. when they are not in, it needs to be a seamless transition.

i was as irritated with this in the first half, as i was in the second half, when we were playing "mop up". the sloppiness was all the way through. i was not as dazzled by the scoreboard in this matchup.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't happy with it either. I just wanted to give some perspective.

My bigger issue is why it take so long for our running game to get going. Similar to the OU game, we didn't start making a statement until the second half. It looked like the holes were there, but the running backs seemed slow in getting there.

yeah. i saw that too.

btw, first post(s) rep! glad to see ya talking and no longer lurking!

Baylor's offense has been passing for a ****load of yards all season.

What's most important to me is that the Buffs forced some turnovers, and turned those into points.

There were two direct snap plays. Cody ran in motion. Lockridge took the snap, runned to the sideline, pumped his arm to throw, couldn't find a receiver, tucked the ball, and got tackled at or near the line of scrimmage. The direct snap to RB play has been a dog all season. Seeing we can't get it to work, it might be time to drop that from the playbook.

I'm guessing the play was intended for B-Jax...but seeing as he's probably not going to play, I agree that we should drop it. It worked once against CSU, but that's it.
