Anyone wanna talk Texas A&M at Nebraska?

Yeah, I'll talk NU/Tex A&M with ya, with anybody. I was at the game and just got home. I'll answer any questions anybody may have.

But first, a few preliminary thoughts:

What I find ironic is that the option is an "outdated and obselete" offense and Callahan is "above" running it. Too good to run the option, if you will. And today Texas A&M ran the option against Bill Callahan's Nebraska Cornhuskers at will. Not saying that we should run it, or that I'm bitter that we don't incorporate it in our offense in some way, but since it's so obsolete, and outdated, shouldn't we be able to stop it?

I found that somewhat amusing in a twisted sort of sense.

When my dad chuckled at the NU score yesterday at the game, I told him to enjoy this season for Nebraska because I thougt they were making steps towards fixing things in Lincoln. He said ya, but he's hopeful they hire someone like OU hired Howerd Shnellenberger. Could happen, you never know, even with Dr. Tom, I would say it's about 50/50 they hire a homerun or another fake.

FAKE FAKE! HIRE THE FAKE!

:gobuffs:

I for one am done with their soap operas; I will worry about Neb only the day after turkey day - until then......."where the hell is Nebraska - heard of the place once a long time ago"

i thought he was not calling the plays?

oh the irony!

Cally took over in the 2nd quarter. NU's first two drives were Watson, they looked better.... I dont know what the **** is going on down there... but I think Cally wants out.

I don't think the option is obsolete. It's hard to run it against a good defensive team because they are too fast and they disrupt the option.

Then again, if you build your teams offense around the option then it can work in college. However, being built around that makes your team predictable and when you meet a top 5 team they usually kick your ass.

Did they look like total dog **** on both sides of the ball or did they play hard?

outdated and obsolete was in quotes for a reason.

umm, they looked better. It was like they were trying to play with fire and passion but they had no inspiration to keep it up.

When does basketball season start? I heard Doc Sadler is building a pretty decent team this year.

then he needs to stop being the **** he always is and quit.... oh wait he wants his 3mil+ for ****ing up this program....

No ****!!!! I can't say I blame him, but if he doesn't leave soon there is going to be an old fashioned lynching in Lincoln. I'll help him move if he needs help! :wow:

I don't think any of us are worried about the Fuskers.:smile2:

I would be willing to bet the Corn brings in somebody who runs the Spread Option next year. The Spread is the 21st centuries wish-bone. The thing that makes it great is the same thing that made the 'bone great; if you can find an athletic qb who has the discipline to make reads, an average team can become a great one. They don't even have to be that smart. They only have to get enough reps to be able to instinctively know when to run, pass, pitch or handoff and then be athletic enough to execute.
