that the Buffs have swept the south and are still searching for their first north win.

I do believe we will KILL both ISU and the fuskers.

I think the pendulum has swung though.

Its not like the North is a pushover this year, having 2 teams ranked in the top 10 is no fluke (although KU shouldnt be ranked that high, but thats for another thread). I think over the next few years the Big 12 will start to gain national respect between mainly the north. We will show people the big 12 will be a force similar to the way the big 8 used to be.

KU shouldn't be ranked that high?? They are undefeated, and while their schedule hasn't been all that impressive, they have beaten CU in Boulder, destroyed UNL, beaten a pretty good KjSU team in Manhattan. They have beaten everybody put in front of them, including teams that have beaten OU and Texas. Personally, I think the BCS has it about right putting them at #4...

KU - first comes the Sports Illustrated cover. Then the wheels come off.

I agree with the top 10 ranking, while they did beat us, it was by 5 points. And I understand a win is a win, but at some point you have to take the schedule strength into consideration. Yes they have beaten teams who beat OU and Texas, but what would have happend if they themselves had played OU or Texas? That whole we beat team A, team A beat team B therefore we could beat team B doesnt work.

As for the undefeated argument, why is Hawaii not ranked that high? They are ranked behind a team with 3 losses (Florida)

Because Hawaii hasn't played anybody the caliber of a Big XII team. KU has played 5 or 6 Big XII teams, and beaten them all.

I'm not saying that because they beat CU and CU beat OU, they would automatically beat OU. But I think it's a bit silly to dismiss the strength of their schedule entirely when they have played teams that have beaten OU and UT. By winning those games, KU's opponents have shown they are not total patsies...

At some point, as KU continues to roll through the Big XII, their weak nonconference schedule starts to become irrelevant. We're getting close to that point. If they beat Mizzou, we're there...

I agree that IF and thats a big if, they beat Mizzou, the schedule is no longer a factor.

I cant wait for the day when a team who acctually plays legitimate teams can go undefeated to win the MNC. I think its total bull (mainly in KU's case) that you schedule 4 non conference crap teams. I want one year where someone can schedule 4 BCS teams and win, and go undefeated. That is the main reason I beleive KU shouldnt be ranked that high.

I apologize for taking this thread somewhat off topic.

9-0 KU's non-conference schedule:

Central Michigan
SE Louisiana
Toledo
Florida International

8-1 Missouri's non-conference schedule:

Illinois
Ole Miss
Western Michigan
Illinois State

8-1 Oklahoma's non-conference schedule:

North Texas
Miami
Utah State
Tulsa

10-0 Ohio State's non-conference schedule:

Youngstown State University
Akron
Washington

3 out of our 5 losses have been to top 10 teams (i'm not sure where ASU is now). another loss was to FSU. we also beat a top 5 team. things are looking up. keep the faith.

You mean KILL them in the figurative sense, right? Because to literally kill them would be kind of a bad thing.
