5-6 NU @ 5-6 CU prediction thread

Remember the days in the 90's when the CU/NU game was for the Big 8 crown? Oh times have changed, actually for the first time since 2001, both teams are playing for something in this game, a 6th win to make them bowl eligible.

Both teams have taken their big lumps this year, and while CU has shown more flashes of greatness than the huskers this year, the recent play has to be in favor of the huskers. I thought that NU gave up on Cally, and the skers wouldn't win another game this year, but yesterday proved me wrong. Was that a fluke game for the skers yesterday? Or does Ganz make that much of a difference?

What about the buffs? Do they bounce back and have the Seniors go out with a win over Nebraska and a bowl berth? Just two weeks ago, the buffs looked good on the road against Texas Tech, yet they are on the verge of getting swept by the North, after sweeping the south.
Strange year, and with all that has gone on, ANYTHING can happen in the CU/NU game this year. The buffs need to send Cally out with a big slap of Karma from all the BS he has pulled in his short career in Lincoln. I think Dizon has a big game in his final one in Folsom.

Also, I am trying something different. I picked us to beat KU, Mizzou and ISU. I picked us to lose to OU and Texas tech. I think I am gonna go with what has been working for me and pick the opposition.

NU 34 CU 28

Going to be a close one guys and gals

CU milks the clock and get a 10 point win

24-14

T-Wheat and the rest of the senior class are going to go out with a quality win.

Nebraska 42

Colorado 17.

CU offense 385 yards..

CU sends another fired to be Nebraska coach out with a win.. :sad2:

The pathetic thing is ABC is apparently ignoring this game...no mention of it during the discussion of the upcoming rivalry games this weekend. Hopefully, this game will be relevant one day soon....

I've given this a lot of thought. Both teams are schizophrenic. But NU's D has generally been crappy. They can score occasionally, but their D hasn't really stopped anyone. CU's D has been pretty steady, except for the Mizzou game. The offense has been very hit or miss. NU is likely playing it's last game with Cally as coach. CU is playing on Senior Day. When I put all that together, and do the calculations, I come up with...

CU 100
NU 0
CU Offense: 1500 yds

Sorry, the numbers just don't lie.

CU 26
NU 17

CU pulls away in 4th quarter.

Total O 410 (220 on the ground setting up some great PA passes)

Ok I'm on board

Offenses sputter but the Buffs grind one out*

Buffs 20
hucksters 17

Buffs 285 yards offense

* I don't think the Buffs can win a scoring contest

Game plan game plan game plan.....

What do we do offensively is the key. If we make the effort to establish the run, stick to the run, and then when in doubt, run it some more then I think we will win. If we come out throwing the ball and trying to match pass attempt with pass attempt then we will not only lose but we cold lose big. I am not looking for some sort of major ass kicking on our part, whether it is by 1 point or 100 points a win is a win and I will take it.

So if we go off of my game plan, we win

17-14

Buffs 37
Cornholers 34

O - 357 yds

FG as the clock runs out wins it for the buffs.

If the weather's bad
CU 14
NU 10
If the conditions are good, I don't like our chances
If Hawkins loses this one, the Honeymoon is over!
