Bowl game momentum.

While I am happy with any bowl game or opponent, I hope we play an Alabama or another pretty well known team. I just believe that, if we get a team like Alabama and win, it would give us way more momentum going into spring ball than a win versus H-Town or Indiana. Whoever we get, we need to beat that ass though.

it'll be indiana most likely.

here would be my predictions:

1. BCS Championship - Missouri
2. BCS Fiesta - Kansas
3. Cotton Bowl - Oklahoma
4. Holiday Bowl - Texas
5. Gator Bowl - Texas Tech
6. Alamo Bowl - Texas A&M
7. Sun Bowl - Oklahoma State
8. Insight - Colorado

Independence against Alabama would be like a fairy tale ending to the season for me, especially if we beat them. I ride around town with my CU sticker right square in the middle of my back window on my pickup truck and people always look at me funny. It is weird how people here just don't think there s football outside the SEC. I would love to go to our local sports bar wearing my black and gold and be surrounded by a sea of crimson and then listening to them bitch about their 4 million dollar coach after he took a big bite of a Ralphie chip.

If we are going to the Insight.... what choice do they have for the Big 10 (6th? 7th?)

Maybe we can somehow get Michigan State or Purdue.

Insight has the 6th B10 pick.

If we go to the Insight we'll play IU, if we go to the Independence we'll play Alabama.

the Oklahoma State "insiders" on the radio down here seem to think OSU is a lock for the insight.com bowl. (Of course, these same radio folk thought OU was going to the insight.com bowl in 1999)

I gotta think that the 6th pick would go to Michigan State over Indiana. MSU WONT get picked before that. That assumes that OSU, and either Illinois/ Michigan go to a BCS.

IU's a better story this year than MSU, either school won't likely sell a lot of tix in Tempe, but IU would have as good as a TV following and like I mentioned a better story.

It's almost inevitable that the Insight will get Indiana, Purdue or Michigan State. They get the sixth pick from the Big 10, and Ohio State, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin and Penn State will get the first five. Of the other 5 bowl eligible teams in the conference, two of them (Iowa and Northwestern) are 6-6, and can't get a bowl bid unless all the 7 or more win teams have one. Since the Big 10 doesn't have 10 bowl bids, that can't happen. Which leaves Michigan State, Purdue and Indiana as probably the only choices the Insight Bowl will have.

What about the Independence bowl ?

What about the Independence bowl ?

That, and the Gator and Sun Bowls don't both take Big XII teams the same year - that is a joint thing with the Big East. If the Gator takes a Big East team, the Sun takes a Big XII, and vice versa. Take out one of those bowls and either CU or Okie Light ends up in Shreveport....

**** that's right. i'm still 99% sure we'll end up in Tempe with Okie St in Shreveport though.

Meh. I don't really care either way after last year, but Bama would almost assure us of win #7, which is nice.
