interesting how all the b12 north have indoor practice facilities. what a shock it will be to our friend waylon. i am assuming he is in no doubt of his own practice facility, and ours.

i wonder if he has looked at texas' facility, and the aggies? pretty much the same thing colorado has.

shuckeedarns for waylon!

link to texas tech facilities. cant find an image, but i remember a bubbly thing close to the stadium. they have got it going on. bet the bank on it.

link to baylor facilities. their stadium and campus are really nice, and you can practically smell the money that was put into it. loved it there.

i am going to assume waylon is familiar with okie and okie lite facilities.

at any rate, here is a link to a b12 facilities. many of which have all kinds of bells and whistles. http://www2.kusports.com/photos/galleries/2006/feb/23/big_12_football_facilities/ college football had turned very competitive: this is no longer the 70s or 80s where only a small handful of teams could boast to be among the "haves".

face it. what once was stunning is now the norm.

i am surprised Texas set up is pretty mediocre, not much better than what we have.

i fail to see the difference between hog land and corn fields. nebraska is not the most cosmopolitan of states.

in the end, they have a facility. you cannot claim they are not equipped with one. if you find nebraska's more visually pleasing, enjoy it. lincoln is a poophole. you think it is way better to look at endless traintracks and dirty assed industry? yeah that is picturesque.

EDIT: bubbles DO rock. despite your sarcasm, a number of teams with much bigger payrolls than yours have gone tot he bubble, such as the texans and the dolphins.

its almost exactly what we have. which is why the arrogant "no one has what we have, glad you have a rock wall" bs makes me shake my head out of pity for the idot.

Did Fatgino leave Lawrence? Or are you suggesting that is a guest golf cart for those frequent occations when the KU coach tools around Ron Prince's facility?

shhhh. huskers KNOWZ them some football. its the other fans that can't get their **** straight, right? at least that was according to punks on cornophelia, and the guests that felt the need to sit in the cu section.

here is another philosophical question about facilities as they impact recruiting: do they really matter?

north carolina has great facilities, they can't recruit.

georgia and florida do not have indoor practice facilities, but they tend to make out like bandits.

could waylon's idea of what it takes to recruit a kid be no more than a pile of bs, dashed with a liberal helping of self-importance? :smile2:

lb- you might need to step away from the pipe, its not waylon that invented that string of thought, its the general consensus that better facilities = better recruiting.

Do the Flatirons count as facilities? If you've ever tried to climb one, you'd agree that it builds strength, character, and a humbling appriciation for the laws of gravity.

Jeremy Bloom might consider Eldora facilities. He learned something about balance, leg strength, and how to carve up field.

Nahhhh. Who needs natural beauty, proximity to an outdoor lifestyle, and a few Nobel Laureates when you have gold plated dumb bells in the weight room?

i never peruse the pipe. the effects tend to enhance the tendency to say or do something stupid.

despite the "general" consensus, you have to admit, there is also evidence that would indicate that the thought process, popular as it is, by no means is absolute.

waylon was attempting to pimp the idea that it is. for that reason, i see fit to add a few monkey wrenches into his smoothly laid out assumptions.

come on lb almost no thought process is absolute, that sa silly standard to use. While I might quip that NU's facilities are not quite as good as Waylon thinks they are (top 5 asertion) they are certainly the most extensive and likely best in the big 12 north, soon in the big 12 southMr Boone Pickens moeny should yeild the nicest facilities.

CU does have one of the nicest environments for people like us, but someone gunning for the NFL might care more about wieghtrooms etc. incidentally the last time CU's facilities were state of the art and fully upgraded was around 1990.

I've been in K-State's facility.. it's not that impressive. It's more of a square warehouse that they put some turf into. I haven't been in for a couple of year, however, there are no yardline markers or anything.

Is the million dollar locker room renovation and practice bubble that was installed this year chopped liver?

he was in town to eat at their training table I guess???? :sorry::yeahright:

smoothly laid out? I am a pimp daddy?.... not hardly lady! I'm all thumbs.:smile2:

which has already been duly noted, and is next on the priorities list. first, the practice bubble and locker facilities had to be attended to. i have heard bohn speak of more athletic facilities coming down the pike. dal ward, while nice, is not anything we will rest on our laurels about.

bohn has steered us right so far. i hope it is not doubts that i am sensing?

what do you want from a practice facility? palm trees and beach sand? pretty much what is needed is grass and a building to be used in case of inclement weather, though some teams pride themself on being tougher than rain with respect to weather, and say a practice facility makes one "soft". a couple of those teams recruit damn well.

i was attempting to be nice. truth be told, your ramble read like an off road experience with worn out shocks. all the same, i was going to throw some monkey wrenches in it.

and there is a wide chasm of difference between pimping a silly idea and being a pimp daddy. trust, i would never accuse you of the latter.

Boise State got a nice indoor facility - just before Hawk left - takes more than facilities to get everyone you want but bling never hurts

Hello. UraNUs, Earth calling!

There's probably some truth in what both sides are saying here. Not every kid from the inner city gives two shakes about mountains if he likes the beach. By the same token the kid that likes the mountains may not really want to go to Nebraska. Now if he has a poor sense of balance and wants to walk and run where it is extremely flat then it's a different story.

Are facilities important? Yes to the right kid. Are the surroundings important? Yes again to the right kid. What is most important however is winning when it comes to recruting. You may have the best facility and the best natural scenery but if you suck you suck and nobody wants to be on a team that sucks.

The current top 6 recruiting classes for 2008 according to Rivals:

3. Alabama
4. Florida State

Uhh... care to modify your statement a hair or two?

Good point but let's see what this looks like come February. Lot of teams come on strong at the end with recruits flipping last-minute and a lot of teams at this point have silent commits that just aren't making a verbal yet.
