Alabama has purchased tickets to the tune of 4 to 1. I know about the distance and location but many of these seats are likely donated. We cant expect to be invited to premium bowls if we dont develop a reputation for traveling well.

That doesnt mean you have to go. Buy a couple of seats, it is less than $100, and donate them. It is easy just go online or call the ticket office. The seats will be filled with underprivileged kids who will be rooting for the Buffs. They will have CU colors to fly and your eternal appreciation.

Lets not embarress this team and staff after the season they have put together by only having 2000 fans at a stadium that holds 50K. This game will be on national t.v. and is the only game being played so it will draw.

GO TO THE CU WEBSITE OR CALL THE TICKET OFFICE, IT IS TAX DEDUCTIBLE (I THINK).

For those going to the game, see you there.

Who is all going from here?

92 - I've got a group of four going
LB and 3 others are going
Chipwich
Chilly

Bama Charlie will be on the dark side

Who else?

i am going to check into this on monday when the ticket office is open...there is nothing on the buff website that i could find to indicate they have something in place for ticket donations but it is a great idea.

unfortunately i can't make it to the game this year....but i would buy a couple tix if some kids could use them...as long as they wear the black and gold....

:smile2:

thanks... will get a few, but I gotta whine for a moment.

Playing a bowl game in Shreveport blows for the Western teams... Its no wonder Alabama has sold out. That's like Wyoming hosting a bowl came and CU selling out its allotment... its a bad compare.

CU does not and has not traditionally traveled well. Our best chances for good attendance are to play in large CU Alum areas (socal, norcal, texas).

That being said, sending some positive rep your way for doing the right thing.

CU does ravel pretty well in September. We always sell out our alottment for the good away games. Just a note to give credit where it is due.

Alabama hasn't even sold out. they have sold less then 8000 or their 12000. I actually think that that is a little sadder then us. Its right next door to them. They had 90000 at their spring game and had to turn some away. I wonder if this is some of the shine coming off of Saban after the end of the season that they had.

Last time I checked, Shreveport was just a few miles across the border from Texas. And I'd bet my last buffalo nickel a large group of Texas Buffs will be at the game.

Seven of us going, the folks are coming down from Colorado and we are driving from Metroplex. Come on Texas Buff fans and alums, lets hit Shreveport...

You should really consider hopping on the alumni bus. We can drink all the way there and someone else is doing the driving.

We are loading up the "Texas taxi", three of the seven are kids, 11/8/6....

Would hate to rain on your parade!!! But we will see you there.

I'm not sure how much of a parade there is to rain on. I figure folks are planning to be relatively mellow since it sounds like other kids are coming. it sounds like the bus is leaving early so we will have plenty of time for fun in Shreveport at the pre-game activities.

We will be having a few beverages along the way, though.

I just called and spoke to a LIVE person (not TicketsWest :smile2:) and donated a couple. Happy Holidays to whomever gets my seats and ROOT ON THE BUFFS FOR ME!!!!

Alabama only has about 900 allotted tickets left...

Article: Less Than 1,000 Tickets of UA Allotment Remaining for PetroSun Independence Bowl

We've sold over 11,000 tickets as of 12/20/07 and we will sell our entire ticket alottment by kickoff,

That's the way Alabama travels,

Sorry to disappoint

I'm not really disappointed, but I am surprised. I always heard Bammer traveled well. Struggling to sell out a 12,000 seat allottment for a game played in your back yard?? Not at all what I would have expected.

Hell, CU doesn't have a good reputation for travel, but put a bowl game within a short drive and I'm pretty sure we'd have no problem selling more than 12,000 seats...

Hey show some hospitality to our great southern opponents.

This talking behind their back has got to stop! It's just not right!!

I mean we should be better than this. After all we are the prime vacation spot for the more educated Bammer population.

Me and 5 of my buddies will be going to Shreveport. I also purchased 8 to be donated. We need to sell these tickets out. Remember Buff fans, you can't have your cake and eat it too. If you don't go or purchase tickets to donate please don't complain when we get passed over for good bowls or we don't become an elite team. You get what you put into it. I know it's a long travel but if you can't make it PLEASE PURCHASE TICKETS! That is all.

Go Buffs!

I'm buying a couple to donate since I can't go myself. Get some black and gold in those seats!

I've been telling myself I would do this, and I finally got around to calling and donating four tickets this morning. Hope the people that get the tickets enjoy the game!

GO BUFFS!

I'm going to purchase a few as well to be donated. It's too bad you can't designate where your seats go. I'd like to have the AD give them to Barrett since he needs ~200 tickets, but I'm 100% sure that'd be against NCAA rules. Oh well, 2 more people to root for the Buffs is always good. I'll be up in Boulder for a wedding, but I'll catch the game on tv.

Anyone going to watch the game at the Lazy Dog?

Ditto.

So, I asked if the tickets could be made available for friends or family of the team. The agent was like, "Sorry, sir. That would be an NCAA violation, but you can direct them to the band, local youth groups..."

Thank you to everyone donating! You guys are awesome. The team will really appreciate it. I just don't want to see them get out there and get no support with all this momentum we have been building in the program recently. Spread the word about donating tickets if you can.
