Mallett to UCLA?

Michigan freshman QB is leaning towards leaving UM and heading west to UCLA. Quite a coup for Ricky if true. RR has to be bummed, but then again, Mallet wasn't exactly a spread QB.

If RR can somehow land Pryor, I'm sure he'll be happy. Not only would he be landing an outstanding prospect, but he would be taking a guy who has had OSU at the top of his list for a long time.

Mallett is a pretty decent QB though and it would be a nice start for Neuheisel. In other QB transfer news, Freeman from Miami is transferring to Baylor.

Van Pelt? Oh, wait, you said "Mallet." I thought it was "Mullet." Sorry.

He is a redshirt junior this year, how will he have any eligibility? He has to be going DII. If he went to Baylor he would have to sit his last year of eligibility.

That would be big for Skippy. Mallett does have some talent, but I agree I don't think he's a spread option guy. In fact, I will be very curious to see how Meatchicken does next year - the kind of players you need in Carr's offense are just a bit difference than the players required to run RR's system. I think it could be a bit of a rough transition until RR has had a chance to buy the groceries through a couple of classes...

DII? Baylor? I think it is an understandable mistake...

Honestly, I don't know what the situation is. I just saw it on Baylor's message board last week.

What in the holy fack are you doing on the Baylor message board? And who knew there was such a thing to begin with?

I went there to see their thoughts on their b-ball team's nice start. I decided to look at the football board for some laughs.

Someone may have posted this below...I haven't read that far yet, but the way I understand it, Freeman doesn't have to sit a year, because he's already earned his degree. This rule was made for players pursuing "graduate" degrees at other institutions.
