Official Pre-Game Thread: CU @ Nebraska, September 8, 2018 @ 1:30 MT

A truly horrific thing happened in my family this year. My wife and son picked out some new sneakers for him on Amazon without my involvement. They went with red & grey New Balance. So my kid is walking around n shoes that have a big red "N" on them. It has strained relations in our home.
new balance are made for wide feet, which I have, I would go barefoot before wearing a big n on the side of my foot. No matter the color at that point. unacceptable Nik. Should be part of Your ****ty preview.

Speaking about whatever topic happens to pop into your head at that very moment, is very much a symptom of Alzheimer’s, that includes going to great details about a seemingly random subject/tangent.

Edit: I am not inferring that you were being insensitive. More just pointing out that it is a very complex disease that manifests itself differently in each person, unfortunately with the same ultimate result for everyone.
I think Mac might do better in moderated situations.

I'm finding it hard to find balloons in Colorado, apparently there was a run on them by Nymph fishermen this summer, but I found some. Will greatly reduce the # of stops driving to Stincoln on Friday as we empty the cooler of made-in-Colorado brews, riding in my Suburban across that ****-hole landscape. Memories......

Hi, can you please sign the balloons for the rest of us? Something like “62-36, you’re a bunch of pricks, love, buffsrock85” or “with love from all Buffs” or something of that nature.

This Buff Squad has a chance to go down in history for ruining their unicorn scott frost's coming out party...don't get this opportunity often if ever.

Remember when CU’s AD once declared a Home Run hire had been made? NUAD made the same kiss of death.

Also, this Saturday will mark the 2nd time this year an unfriendly marches into Scott Frost’s house uncontested and takes whatever they want.

Here's the spring tape highlights of Adrian Martinez from last spring. True frosh, but been on campus for a spring. Kid is a plus athlete and shows a lot of good things. Don't think he shows much in the way of pocket patience.

You do realize that Nebraska put the #1 O and the #1 D on the same team right? He was going against 2nd/3rd team guys on defense.

I discounted heavily for the fact that he was going against a Nub D!

This kid is going to be a very good player if his repaired shoulder holds together. He had offers from Bama, OU, etc. He's got a spring under his belt in an offense that he grew up in. We may see some early game jitters, but I don't think Buff fans should discount that he could be their best player form snap 1. I don't think Frost has enough other pieces around him to have a great offense yet and I expect their D to pretty much suck. Martinez will impress.

1) It is an interesting spin on the option play to throw a screen to a receiver on the boundary. We need to both watch for that and incorporate it.
2) Not only was it "touch" on Martinez in the spring game, but the defense looked like they had orders to ensure they didn't touch him hard. Two years since he has been hit in the mouth is a REALLY long time. It will be more than interesting to see how he reacts.

Also noticed the ends/ outside backers seemed to ALWAYS crash down on the running back. He won't have that luxury when playing a real game.

Maybe. But I'm betting he'll be more impressive with his legs than his arm, especially in game 1. It appears we have faster edge defenders this season than in recent years (sure, we all loved D-Mac and Ryan Moeller, but Taylor and Lewis have another gear) and hopefully that helps with a running QB. I say stack the box, pen the QB, and see how many he completes to his guys and how many he completes to ours.

Can't wait for this game! CSU and then NU...what an intense two weeks...good thing we have a FCS team coming to town next week.

Yeah, I'm willing to roll the dice a little, play zero coverage or maybe a little cover one, and force him to beat us with his arm. Our CBs aren't as good right now as they have been, so it's a gamble, but that would be my initial plan until he proves he can complete passes consistently.

Ain’t this grand? What a great couple of weeks to be a CU fan.

Anyone else notice how natural it is to pick up where we left off with the dooshnozzel Nebraska trolls hitting us up on game week?.

There is nothing artificial or forced about CU fans hating on the aNUs to the east.
